Get ready for the Super Mario Galaxy sequel!

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto talked about the company's new plans for 2008.
And although the interview's main focus was aimed towards his plans for the Wii Fit, the highlight was the mention of a possible Super Mario Galaxy sequel and a new Legend of Zelda title for Wii.

Tbh, I don't even have Mario Galaxy ... yet.
But it's nice to know that Nintendo is already planning a sequel. They sure are rushing into the next big Mario project, so here's hoping it won't be a rushed mess.

But, I cannot doubt Miyamoto's imagination. I can see him putting Toad, Peach and maybe Yoshi as playable characters.

We know it doesn;t need a sequel, byt think back to Super Mario World 2, or Super Mario Land 2 it wasn't a sequel just folowed a similar formula, sorta. And besides, I will never never never never ever ever ever ever, want to see Peach playable in a proper Mario game. I'd be cool to have Yoshi for Mario and Luigi to ride on, even maybe Wario, but no Peach.

I'm actually more looking forward to Zelda 2008.

Who knows? It could be of those games that gets pushed back as lot. But I'm really happy to hear there's going to be a sequel.

They will need to put some good effort into this sequel. I don't want just another Mario game. Put effort into it Nintendo! Release it on December 31st!

Well this and the new Zelda title will definitely be on my 'to get list'. Smart move Nintendo.

Have you ever played Super Mario Bros. 2?

I'm not surprised by the annoucement of another LoZ game, theres usually two Zelda games per console(Nes-LoZ/AoL,GB-AoL/Oracles, 64-OoT/MM, GC-4SA/WW, GBA-4S/MC). I hope they have the zelda game with a long lenght, maybe have as many regions as SMG has galaxies.

As for a new SM I'm shocked because they usually only have one 3-D mario game per console. I kinda hope they make it more styled after 64, this one was a bit to different.
