Damage

A lot of people have been wanting damage for a very long time. I'm not sure if it is possible seeing that there will be 600+ cars for the damage to be designed for. I really don't think Polyphony will take the time to add it as a feature and that they should work on the other things that need improvement.

At the moment it seems there isn't a damage system yet, at least according to Gamespot's hands on at E3. With the release date so far away it could change but it's unlikely.

Polyphony always could have put damage in if they wanted to but the problem wasn't with them, it was with the manufacturers. Manufacturers don't want damage. They believe that it shows their cars in a bad light and that their cars aren't safe. That's why damage is rarely seen in licensed racing games. If you look at burnout, the cars aren't licensed. They are just cars modeled after real life cars created by the Burnout team themselves. Need For Speed: Most Wanted had a little damage like scrapes and scratches but nothing big like huge dents. The only way that damage will be put in GT HD is if Polyphony can convince the manufacturers to allow their cars to be damaged.

Well, Project Gotham Racing and Forza both have their franchises based around damages even though they have the licenses, so it wouldn't surprise me if damage would at least be more highly consider in GT HD then it was in the four previous major titles.

Thats because Projest Gotham and Forza are both funded by Microsoft who are willing to pay as much as they can to try and out do Gran Turismo.

To be honest while I would like to damage, as Animated said above me, GT works fantastic without it already so its quite a big risk.

I don't really want damage in Gran Turismo 5. If they do include and allow you to turn it on and off whenever you want, then it would be the best thing in the world.

Damage + photomode + stunts =

...for instance rockstar who put in major damage in Midnight club 3ub edition or juiced games/THQ who created juiced.

Honestly, even some cracked windows would be nice. Demolition games have been around for years, back to the PSX. If they had any sort of monetary system, damaged vehicles requiring money to repair would be nice.

Actually, anything that requires you to have to be able to drive and not just have a fast car is good for me.
