Would anyone say this would be a good choice to purchasing this at the same regular price from when it was first released? Or would it be best to wait until Resistance 2? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of playing Resistance 2 if you have not played Resistance: Fall of Man? Since you would have no clue about the storyline of Resistance would be.

Anyone recommend this game, I am looking for a great war type game, keep in mind I already have COD4 for PC, and have finished the single player. The only reason why I would get COD4 for PS3 would be for the Mutilplayer capability along with many friends that play it online.

I don't know about Resistance 2, but Resistance Fall Of Man is THE best game ever and it was worth every penny. So I'd buy both frrl, I bought my ps3 and Resistance (only game I had for months) and it got me hooked on it for 5 months (without playing any other game) so then I got Call Of Duty 4 (but online is horrible) to me that is. why you ask? well, you cannot chat (only if you have a mic) but other than that no, and I just hate it compared to Resistance Fall Of Man. So I don't recommend buying COD4 on ps3 since you already beat it on PC

I can honestly say that R:FoM is a good game and it's worth buying. I'm probably the guy who likes FPS genre the least, and even so I played thru the game enjoying every part of it, curious what's gonna happen next.

It's definitely a great game, the fact that there are still people playing online since launch is a testament to how good it is

my only "ehhh" about what ppl have said is about the price. it was released way back when the ps3 was. i don't think it's worth that $ nemore. i'd find a cheaper copy if possible. if u can't, then yes, i'd buy it. good game, good story, lotta ppl still playing, ect ect.

my only concern would be buying it for $60 when it's so old now.

What I'd recommend you do is EITHER try to find a copy for around £15-£20 (like the above suggestion) or around $25-$30, or do the next best thing - buy it second hand (check for scratches as well).

The only reason you should get it cheaper is because having been released almost two years in the states and over a year in the EU, you should be able to find it for cheaper, but if you can't do either of the above... you might as well jsut get the game for the full price, it's most definitely worth it.

And I beleive you WILL need it for the story of R2 so it's better to be safe than sorry.

I said to myself, forget Resistance. I played the demo and pretty much was not impressed with it much. I purchased CoD4 Game of the Year edition for PS3, which included the free Variety Map Pack, which was good.
Now I constantly play CoD4 online and work on unlocking things and improving my rank. I did not know first off there was a ranking system as good as it is in CoD4. If I had of known it in the first place, I would not have hesitated.

To me the storyline is what is important, and Resistance: Fall of Man does indeed have a very good and robust storyline.

I actually did not get Resistance in the end Krunal. I ended up purchasing CoD4 and I am not disappointed with my decision at all I played the demo of Resistance and I wasn't all too fussy on how it played, compared to CoD4.

The game itself is robust, but not different enough to be worth the purchase. The storyline's a bit weak too.

I must say I disagree. A PS3 player without R:FoM is like a fish that can't swim. It just isn't right. This game is very good and will definitely become a Sony classic. True, the story-telling is a little on the weak side, but it is just setting up for R2 and R3. If your worried about scratches, go to GameStop. Every used product is tested to be sure it runs. If nothing else, don't tell an XBox fanboy (not only an owner, someone who thinks that all other consoles are trash) that you have doubts.

IMO a PS3 owner without CoD4 is like a fish without it's tank, lol. CoD has made a big name for itself throughout the years and grew an enormous base for gamers.

Resistance, for me is just any normal game, if it went down in price, I probably would get it, yes. But I know it is not worth the same price now, that it was on it's release date.

I had a go at the demo, it didn't impress me all too much as the new CoD4 does, probably because over the past year and a half, technology obviously grew more. CoD4 has more features incorporated than Resistance does, simply because it's a fresher game

Resistance was a bit wank tbh.

There are so many better shooters out there.
