Will Resident Evil 5 be Wesker's last game?

The rivalry between Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker can only last so long. It's been three games now and there's still no closure. Heck, it might be Chris's last game too. As mentioned above, the rivalry between Chris and Wesker can only last so long. So what do y'all think? Do yo think this could be Wesker (and possibly Chris's) last RE game? And, more importantly, do you want it to be?

Yes, just to have closure (dating all the way back to 1995), and to finally wash my hands off this...of course Capcom will still continue RE anyways. No way they'll stop producing this series just because the storyline is over.

Yeah, same here. It'll be a sad end, but I don't know if I want the plotline to continue any longer. It's been over ten years since this all started, it'll be nice to finally have closure.
RE4's release introduced the series to a bunch of new fans who love the new action-oriented gameplay. The series was "revived" so to speak, so I can't see Resident Evil itsemf ending. Capcom probably just wants to end the current RE storyline that has been going on since the first game, and start a brand new plot that the newer fans can understand and follow from the start.

So true. That's why the director of the game has always been saying this is going to put and end to one story within Resident Evil. He's saying he wants to finish this off then he'll take it into a new scenario. The odd thing is that the fans who've been around since the start may loose interest. If they preferred the original of the game then obviously it might not interest them.

Maybe it is time that wesker and chris were laid to rest, they need a new bad guy to step up and spread viral doom.
I will be happy with the thought that Shiva may end up being killed, maybe by Wesker forcing them into a huge showdown.

If RE4 wasnt a muck up with the story i would have probably compared this to MGS...i mean MGS had a wonderful ending...but since RE4 ruined the story im not really bothered anymore...RE5 cant really make things much worse.

Well they should wrap this side of it up then head off in a new direction. They should've ended the zombie story and then headed off in this action direction.

i will be happy if this rivalry could be ended. But not the end of resident evil.
but, to have more resident evil series coming along the way in the future, it's like AMAZING!

Well actually an action Resident Evil isn't so bad anymore. I would actually enjoy it. I just love Capcom to much to do anything so mean. Oh yes and after coming back from therapy it turns out I'm a pathological liar. Honestly the series (plotwise) needs to end now. I mean honestly if the series had a really in depth story from the start and not just remaking the games to add more new Ideas, and if RE4 wasn't such a betrayal to the series then I might see it continuing. Maybe.......just bring back the horror and make the boss fights interesting and I'm there. Oh and that was not a lie.......I promise.

I'll be happy with this being Wesker's last game. Or even the last RE game. As long as the final battle isn't a "tap the buttons" type thing, and it doesn't end with something heavy falling on Wesker, i'm fine.

I think this should just be the last Resident Evil game if they're just going to kill the characters who made it great, they already ruined it by making it an action game. It might as well be called Resident Action after this but I'll check it anyway since Chris is my favorite character from the series.
