I don't really understand why so many people think this is going to be such a great a game. I'd love to join this excitement everyone seems to share of Killzone, but can someone please explain to me what I should be excited about?

Because it looks like it will be a very fun game.

Go look at the trailers on Youtube, that's what got me hyped.

Because alot of people loved killzone 1.

And more importantly, alot of people thought that it couldnt look as great as the E3 2005 video.. or was it 2006?.. not sure... but anyways, alot of people criticized killzone when they never even saw a snipit of gameplay

Then when the 07 trailer came out... and shocked the hell out of everyone cuz it looked similar and even better in some areas as the old trailer... the one that no one thought we could match.

Here's a funny little story that happened to me a long time ago, that illustrated just how un-hyped, and under rated Killzone 1 was, and still is. This was just after I picked up my 20Gb ps3 back in december. My landlord's son, who is a huge MS and Halo guy, came over to my apartment to do some work. He saw my ps3 and you can imagine the conversation that took place about how I just supposedly wasted my money. Anyway, later the noise from the work is so loud I can't hear TV so I pop in KILLZONE for some online fun. I had it loud so he must have heard the fire. Here's the thing. I was on the Helghast side in a team game. While standing behind me, he only saw me killing ISA. He was like, "WOW that such a sick game!! What is it?" I tell him KILLZONE, and he goes "no way, I heard that game sucked wicked bad" I said obviously he heard wrong, and didn't say another word. The funny part is, he forgot that about 3 months before, he told me how he had Killzone, and it sucked so bad, he took it back LOL! Lyin Fanboys!

I'd agree that a lot of the hype is about how impressive it looks like it will be. I also rated the first Killzone pretty high with storytelling. I'm sure some people want it for that. I don't own a PS3 so I can't get this game (insert sad face here), but I can't deny that this game looks freaking awesome. I'd love to play it just to tear the Helghast some new ones again. I found them to be some of the best villains in a game. I popped the first KIllzone in again today just for the heck of it. Best. Intro. Ever. Made. Still.

Many people right now are hyped about Killzone 2 mostly for it's impressive presentation that has been displayed. The visuals look incredibly amazing and in-depth and the gameplay looks very improved from the first of the series. Even though not much has been released about the title yet, this game seems to have taken a very good step into a realistic and mind-blowing war gaming experience that everyone wants to be apart of.

The first KZ was hardly hyped up as much as it shoul'v been. It was a kindof new concept to FPS gaming. I am not very hyped about KZ2 as I am about LBP of Fallout 3 for instance but it is going to be good.

It will be great seeing as there has been alot of time to develop it. Not to mention a bigger team of developers.
