I suggest having more health with Hope, around 6k, if not even more.


1st : Salvation = For merciless Judgement, heals the party before his
stagger meter gets empty./Med/Med/Med/
2nd: Hero's Charge = Useful when buffs run out, hope can cast the buffs while light Keeps the stagger meter steady./Com/Syn/Med/
3./Rav/Med/Sab/ = Ravager boosts the stagger meter while sab debuffs and keeps the meter steady.
4.Relentless Assault = For quick staggering and damaging,reccomended to use at full HP./Com/Rav/Rav/
5.Tri-Disaster - Useful for staggering, only use when hit bay a commando or a Sab a few times./Rav/Rav/Rav/
6.Diversity - The commando and the ravager focus on damaging, while Med Heals the party./Com/Med/Rav/.


Tip. Find the king behemoth and the Metogestrian fighting, 6600 Exp without the growth egg.Use this to level upo your characters befor fighting orphan.

Tip. if you want to have Growth egg, Go with Vanille as leader, Snow and Light, /Sab/Sen/Med/ and Rav/Sen/Com. Death on neochu and kill the pinochu.

I notice when the Cardle opens up, it also opens path to Gran Pulse as well. Is it possible to go to Pulse, level up (or do some Cieth missions) and come back to beat the Orphan?

Really? My favorite team are the gals - Light, Fang (two main attackers) and Vanilla (medic). Got their strenght up to 1,400 ++ (Vanilla's magic is 1,500) and they seems to have no problem beating anything on that place. Thinking of going back to Pulse to finish the Cieth missions but worried I will have to take the long way back like before.

I too had problems with this one it took me four try's to beat him en get five stars .
This is how i did it .

Partyleader : Snow
Members : Fang and Sazh

Each member has to have role level 4 for all 3 primary roles and as much as you can from the other roles as well.
When the battle starts press start en retry.
Use these paradigms: Cereberus/commando/commando/commando
Relentless Assault/ravager/commando/ravager
Evened Odds/medic/saboteur/Synergist
This is my equipment en hp for each member

Snow/weapon/Powercircle lv 1/Warriors wristband lv 1 x2/Powerglove lv 1
roles /commando/ravager/medic/HP/11770/STR/1698/MAG/1014

Fang/weapon/Bladed lance lv1/Wariors wristband lv 1 x3
roles/commando/saboteur/HP/9470/STR/2129/MAG/1158

Sazh/weapon/Deneb duellers lv 1/Sorcerers mark lv 1x2/Weirding glyph lv 1
roles/commando/ravager/synergist/HP/10080/STR/866/MAG/1119

Start with Evened odds until haste/faith and bravery are in place altough haste should do it already
Let fang cast deprotect/deshell and imperil
Switch to relentless assault and attack until you stagger him .
Then switch to cerberus and keep attacking and finish him off .
