What kind of Downloadable Content would you want?

I'd like a really huge dungeon. Think the thingo in Bevelle from X-2. Every twenty floors you fight an insanely hard boss, with one that's specifically designed to make you want to tear your face off at the bottom.
That and some new costumes for characters would be pretty rad.

I want the free kind please Square New Skins for characters, considering they never dress as per usual in FF. Possible Deeper character development, alternative endings.

Some kind of mini game that immerses with the world, like Blitzball, would be nice.

Would love the Downloadable content but SE already had noted in a interview that there will be no DLC for FFXIII because they wanted to put everything they had in FFXIII before the release. http://kotaku.com/5471819/square-enix-has-no-plans-for-final-fantasy-xiii-dlcEdit: Mar 14, 10

That interview is from 2008. They cut an ungodly amount of content since then, and they have officially announced that they will be releasing DLCs. They just... don't know what they will be.
/v/ was laughing at them for a few days for that.
quoteYup, I'm not paying for anything. They damn well better either be free or absolutely breathtaking, with all the bullshitting Square has done leading up to the release. Also, the game costs $10 extra than other new releases, so it really wouldn't be fair to charge us.

Do you have a link confirming this because I for one would love to see some DLC because the interview I was watching was in Feb 2010. But if what you say is true omg that would be so awesome.

Weird, the game actually costed 10/20 bucks less on launch then other new games here lol. Thats why I was so surprised, I think I bought it for 45 euro, while normally a new game is 60, or even games like Gow or something 70 (Rarely) [Wasnt even a price cut or something]
I wouldnt mind paying for it at all, if its a good one, dont expect a real good Dlc if its free Tbh. The co-op multiplayer battle thing would be awesome like some talked about in the other thread, it could work too. But that will never happen lol ;-=;

For those of you not wanting to pay for any DLC, the harsh reality is that no matter how much you wish for it, it will cost money. Square-Enix are a company, and they want to make money, just like any other. So they'll do anything to get it.

http://kotaku.com/5471819/square-enix-has-no-plans-for-final-fantasy-xiii-dlc This for me is a good thing, since I really don't want DLC. Paid or otherwise, I feel that they are a bad idea. I think the game should only be released when they fell they have everything they could ever want in the game (given timing restraints ofcourse).
Anything after that should go in the next instalment.

They've mentioned the possibility of DLC a few times in the last few months... Square Enix are looking into DLC for Final Fantasy XIII:
quote"We are exploring the option of downloadable content, perhaps adding new areas, items or enemies, but these would not be expansions to the story, only the gameplay. The entire story of FF13 will be on the disc,” according to Kitase. Square Enix: No Towns In Final Fantasy XIII Because They Were "Too Much Work":
quote"The game was designed with DLC in mind but we don’t actually have any planned."

What would be so wrong with them putting in some of the content that they cut out? Like a side quest dungeon or something to that effect?

A NEW clothing style for hope! Its just horrible. I love hope as a character..well not exactly at first, but who did!? Lol. Anyways back on topic. Also it would be pretty awesome if they could add a time compressed type world like from FFVIII. I don't know why but I thought that was amazing. Imagine it with these graphics!
Awuh..I really wish that they won't cancel DLC. It will make the game replay value sooooo much higher... -.-

New clothes would be nice but I think this may contradict with the CGI cutscenes.

I absolutely DO NOT WANT ANY DLC. I will rue the day that Square release DLC for this game. What would be so wrong with them putting in some of the content that they cut out? Like a side quest dungeon or something to that effect? In my opinion the only good decision that Square made was with the story of the game. Apart from that I feel they've made too many mistakes (yes I feel porting it compromised the games content, but we wont go into that).
I also hate the fact that DLC means that a number of people wont be able to enjoy the game to the fullest, even if it's free, because not everyone has a PS3/360 connected to the Internet, and you can't download updates via a PC. It just feels unfair that they leave things out like that, just so that they can charge more money.
I preferred it when they released games that had NO bugs, and was FULL to the BRIM with stuff to do. Now they just release the game as far as they can be bothered to finish, and release updates to fix any issues. FFX was perfect and didn't have any bugs whatsoever, yet I keep looking to games such as GTAIV, Fallout 3 and Oblivion and get gobsmacked with the number of bugs that these games have (Even the Last Rebellion on the X360 was full of bugs).
That's not to say I wont buy them if they were released, I'd just rather they don't. If they've not put it on the disc, I'd rather they just work on the next in the series.
I'm in some way quite annoyed with WKC at the moment. It's obvious that the game when released had a number of quests, but they've only unlocked them via a Patch. Why do they intend on limiting us to what we can do before? And what about those that don't have internet connection to download the patches? (Though that's not a biggie with WKC, since unless you're connected to the internet, the games not really for you)
