Most of you probably knew that a thread like this was coming sooner or later.

Anywho, which game did you like more. Personally, I think Heavenly Sword was a let down. At least a let down for me. I expected the game to have better boss fights, better replay value and most of all, better combat system. God of War wins this battle for me. GOW is just better in terms of everything in comparison to Heavenly Sword. Don't get me wrong. I still like Heavenly Sword but GOW is just better. I had such high hopes for Heavenly Sword but meh. Maybe the sequels will improve. Hopefully by a LOT!

So, your thoughts?

Heavenly sword wasn't a let down. There are things that god of war did better. Such as the puzzles. The puzles were alot better in GOW. But I have to disagree with you with the combat system. Heavenly swords combat system is so much better then god of wars. They got it perfect with the way they did it.

I have to give God of War the edge, but I'll agree with LPF in that HS's combat system was better. GoW is better overall with it's story and such, but Heavenly Sword has it's potential, like the aftertouch.

Would people still say the same if GOW didn't have a sequel. Think about it...

Okay some of you may prefer the HS gameplay and combat system but I still think GOW exceeds HS in terms of story, game length, puzzles, weapons, graphics (PS2 comparison), boss fights (involved challenging battles and cooler button sequence actions), and better replay value. Hopefully HS2 improves vastly over the first one because I wasn't really impressed tbh.

I personally prefer Heavenly Sword instead of the God of War series. I find that the battles, and boss fights in Heavenly Sword require much more strategy than that of the God of War series, and I also liked the cut-scenes more than God of War's.

comparing the ps2 to the ps3, gow far surpasses hs.

I prefer God of War overall, but I did enjoy Heavenly Sword. In fact, GoW should take some pointers from HS in terms of its combat to improve itself. The thing I hated about HS though, was the timed blocking crap, that was jsut annoying.

okay, honestly, i may be a little biased being that i played and beat both gow's on the hardest difficulties... while i only played hs for a mere 4 hours, but i can honestly say in terms of the combat controls, gow completely beats hs.. i never had to button mash in gow, heck i didn't even have to look at a combo list... whatever attack i chose came out easily and exactly when i wanted them.... hs on the other hand felt like a crap shoot.. u never knew if what u were tryin to do would actually come out when u wanted it to, i button mashed and progressed pretty easily..... oh yea and what the hell is up with not being able to jump whenever the hell i wanted too?.... and blocking in this game by pressing nothin at all just never clicked for me.. it felt out of my hands, i dunno
