Now Snake is definately one character that nobody was expecting to see in a Smash Brothers game untill they announce it at E3. But for reasons that probably could be explained he was added in and it has become a thread here.

What are your expectations and everything on Snake?

Had to get that out of the way before the disscussion turn too mature.

MSX2 is an old game console. It's what the old Metal Gear games were originally released on in Japan.

So for the confused, here's how things go based on the MGS timeline.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater » Metal Gear » Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake » Metal Gear Solid » Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty » Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Portable Ops, Snake's revenge, the two Acid games and Ghost Babel are side stories.

Integral, Twin Snakes, Substance and Subsistence are remakes.

The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 is about the making of the game with some bonus gameplay features.


Now, to Snake. Awesome character addition. He's completely different from any other character making the game more diverse. He also brings in an entire new fanbase to the ssb series.

As long as he's got his gun, he's okay. There have been rumors though, that they are going to make him a completely melee character. And though he may have his combat knife....

i wonder if any of his melee attacks will be strong....i don't think they will, besides all of his explosives....will they give him the knife???

They could give him the knife, but I don't care for that. I want to use his explosives.

all he could use is like grenades....i don't want to use all explosives i hope some of his special are with the knife or something.....just not all explosives

This is the first they have weapons like these for the character themselves, so I'm excited to see how it turns out.

You, my friend, have never played a Metal Gear game. Snake is a master at CQC (close quarters combat). In MGS3 you use CQC as much as you use guns. Sakurai has said he doesn't want Snake to use guns, but he will use explosives. So expect grenades and rocket launchers.

Isn't a rocket launcher a gun? As much as I would like to see a rocket launcher in the game, I don't hink it's going to happen; however, I can easily see grenades put in this game. I imagine them functioning like Link's bombs except lighter.

Samus already has a rocket launcher. try her smash B attack (okay, technically it's a missile launcher, but it's the same thing.)
