Out of the Mario characters to add, Daisy and Waluigi seem like two of the most possible candidates, especially since Waluigi was an Assist Trophy in this game.

Now that I have the characters out the way, lets move onto the Items

Mario Items

Red Shell (same as it was in Melee/64)

1up Mushroom, only appears in stock matches, grants the player an extra life/stock.


DK Items

Blast Barrel, returning from Melee however this time you can not fire yourself out of the barrel, it will always be random


Zelda Items

Ocarina, will play 1 of 5 possible songs:

Zelda's Lullaby: Send all opponents to sleep

Sun Song: Puts playing field into darkness for a short while

Song of Time: Puts gameplay into slow motion for a short while

Song of Storms: A storm will hit the playing field, producing lighting strikes that cause damage

Song of Healing: Heals whoever plays it

Bomb-Chu, travels along all surfaces before eventually exploding.


Fire Emblem Item

Magic Card, a card that when used will either produce a Fire, Wind and Lightning based attack.


That's all I can really think of for the items.
