God I Need Help =/

I fail at brawl. A piece of bread could outwit me at Brawl. I main Wolf and Zamus, and no matter how much offline practice I get I can't do anything to get better. I need some tips, because atm I have a 3-12 ratio of wins and losses and I am struggling. X( This is not a dojo, this is a "I need help, tips and advice" thread.

I get sheildgrabbed loads, wind up with unfair counterpicks where I get stage killed, can't edgegrab very well and I just roll everywhere.

As many people on neo needs to realize *I recently overcame this*, you don't HAVE to land infront of your opponent.

Our games last night I got SheildGrabs on you easy just because when you came down from air you landed right infront of me. BIG NO-NO! You have to do your best to get behind the person. Why? Well...


- Much harder for them to grab you (they'd have to turn and grab, giving you enough time to get away, or grab them first)

- It cancels out any chance of them getting a charged Fsmash, and possibly Dsmash on you, and gives you the better spot to smash them.

...And often times they roll away from you, which totally ruined their opportunity to attack you.

And don't get me wrong, Im not saying this is your main problem, (but alot of neo'ers struggle with this I find) but I definitely noticed that screwed you quite a bit in our matches.

Also, I wouldn't take advice from people who just feel the need to post something in every thread. Get fights in, and asks for tips/comments/needs-improvement/what's done well and such. You'll find much better advice that way.

Im just reusing advise i was given by a much better player than me and it helped me loads, Spot dodge is often way more effective than rolling in most situations, rolling is predicatble and easily punished, in many cases. spot dodging is hard to get the timing down on but it worth learning and practice it lots.
I found not enough people spot dodge which after you have learnt to do it compitently you will find yourself kicking them all over the place esp, with wold because when he punishes it really hurts

That helps a lot Mazda, playing a truck load of Link's kinda screwed that up and scarred me there. /Troll

Well if you ever wanna practice then you have my FC and PM so just let me know, Links can be irritating whilst learning to do it, i suggest if you are going to practice spot dodging against a comp then peach is probably the best one to start out against.
Then just go throught the roster learning when is best to spot dodge and best to roll. Soon Links will be no problem as you will be dodging bombs rolling under arrows and reflecting that bloody boomerang and before you know it tearing Link a new one from close range. Just out of interest what controller do you use and what set up you have with that controller?
