I use Sonic a decent amount of the time, and he is okay. His lack of killing moves is annoying, however.

Yeah... This thread is kind of old, and I'm not sure why it was bumped. =\

Anyway, Sonic is a "special" character. He doesn't have many good kill moves, but his speed is the key to beating an opponent. You are supposed to rush in get a few combos in and then quickly get out of your opponent's range. Sonic definitely doesn't want to be in close-quarter combat with guys who have massive range like Ike or DK.

Sonic is decent. Just can't the spin dash into an attack though. But use the d-air to stop anyone from coming back.

I used to think that too. I messed around with Sonic in training mode, and I found out that if you short hop off the stage a bit, use Dair, and then quickly use his spring, you can recover just in time. Just need to learn the range for how far you can go.

But people would go down to avoid getting hit and grab the edge, and his n-air can kill at high percentages.

Yeah, it tends to take me longer to KO people with Sonic than it does with most other characters. But Sonic is much more or a speed character than a power character, so I guess that's to be expected.

I still find it funny how people think Sonic is fast. Ground speed means next to nothing.
