Event Match 1 - Page 2

I'm not sure, it could be they use that roster becuase it was from E for all, or E for all used it cause it is the starting roster. There are a few things that i find strange, like the fact Kirby (who has been in every game and was one of the first 4 veterans to be revealed) Maybe that's cause he is unlockable, but I see no reason for him to be unlockable. I'm confused

And that the fact that "3 characters of Dreamland" are starters, I must ask why you guys are shocked. Really, in Melee we had three Super Mario starters (Mario, Peach and Bowser) + maybe Yoshi and DK if they count.

They count as Mario characters in my book.

What if you have to unlock the Event Mode in this game?

Why does DK count as a Mario character? They've never even been in a game together, except for sports titles like Mario Kart. DK is mainly known for Donkey Kong Country 1-3, and Donkey Kong 64, and Diddy Kong also has Diddy Kong Racing, and has never appeared in a Mario game either.

PS: If any of you are planning to correct me to say that in the original arcade/game boy Donkey Kong, Mario was the protagonist and the main enemy was DK, don't bother. That was actually a different Donkey Kong. Seriously. >_> That was Cranky Kong, Donkey Kong's (the Donkey Kong in Super Smash Bros) father. Technically, this Donkey Kong was also in that game as Donkey Kong Junior, but it was pretty much just a cameo and doesn't really justify them being credited as sharing the same franchise. Donkey Kong is primarily known for good games in his own right, the fact that he had a few second cameo in a Mario game before that doesn't mean that he belongs to the Mario franchise - that's the only appearance he's made.

K, done ranting.

They'll figure out how to handle it. They could easily make boxes smaller and squeeze them together or something.

No maybe the boxes will get smaller as you unlock them.

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that Sakurai didn't want the character select screen to be seen before release. So this roster is probably only for demo purposes only. I mean I hope that when you press the button you need to press on the title screen to start the game, that it doesn't go to the roster right away, just like the videos of the demo shows.

That's just my logic though.


Also to get back on topic, Dedede could be like Ganondorf in which you fought him in an event match and then unlock him, but it also makes sense as him being a starter.
