SC is better, no doubt but my opinion wouldn't say much since I'm obsessed with Soul Calibur which means I think it's the best videogame ever.

Well i still need to try it, but i aint gonna buy it until i buy it first... i actually saw some people playing it and was not impressed, but its just me i guess...

In terms of progression Tekken excels while Soul Calibur falls flat.

At first i liked the Soul Calibur series better because of SC1 but as the Soul series went on the games started to get dull.

in Tekken the character's receive more move changes then the characters in SC.

Tekken 4 and 5 brought two different vibes and feelings. The games felt refreshing and the characters were fun to use.

SC feels like history repeating itself over and over again.

Soul Calibur hasn't really been getting better with each installment (In fact, some things about it have gotten worst in some ways).

Whereas Tekken has gradually become better with each installment.

I like them both, but probably Tekken more.

That may be because I play it more. If I knew more people that played Soul Calibur, I'd probably like it just as much.

Was I dreaming or did I saw half naked girls dancing in a stage in Tekken on the background?

Certain things in Tekken are half-assed, such as character costumes. Most of them have been wearing the same things since they've been introduced.
Whereas in SC, while there are alot who keep simular outfits, they all recieve some changes and updates.

Although the core mechanics of the game are the same, the gameplay itself has improved.

Whereas SC is generally the same as it's always been. the only additions being modes and some new moves (Things we expect).

I'm kind of affraid Tekken 6 will suck but other than that sc has a few advantages despite the fact Tekken is a great franchise.

I like the story more in Soul Calibur, and the characters are great.

I like Tekken for a good time, with it's funny characters.

And like I said before, I play Tekken alot with friends, while I don't play as much Soul Calibur as I used to, so that's a major factor.

Totally agree i also play Tekken more for fun but won't get into characters stories like sc. The time it happens in sc, the visuals and many characters and fighting styles are a + to me.

Tekken has cool things though, some characters are pretty cool.

Tekken, for me, is a lot more fun. I love using all four buttons as attacks. I love blocking with the back button rather than a block button. I love having button combinations for throws rather than a button designated for them. It's my preference simply because I've grown up playing Tekken.


I wouldn't say Tekken stages are boring. I believe each game lacks what the other game has. Soul Calibur's stages are beautiful, detailed, magnificent. You can almost picture yourself in the stage. If you took a screenshot of the stage, the beauty overrides that of Tekken. But it doesn't have what Tekken has. Tekken stages have depth, and it just has that extra goodness that Soul Calibur has. It offers a variety of stages; whether it's a walled in area, or those never ending stages. Tekken 4 offered Multi-tiered stages and irregular pathed stages which was amazing. I just think there was an even balance between those two (depth AND detail), it would be excellent.

I think both franchises will not get old right now as fast as some did.
