	Log in to remove this sponsored message Even though I got into both the series pretty recently, I definitely prefer Tekken. Mainly due to the lack of weapons as I prefer the whole hand-to-hand combat aspect. Also, I hate playing SC with anybody who uses Kilik due to the long range of his pole. He seriously ruins the game for me. But I'd have to admit, SCIV certainly outshined Tekken 6 in the visuals department.

	Ok wait a minute. I was unaware that there were even this many people in the world who preferred a run of the mill game like Tekken to Soul Calibur. Many of your arguments are completely stupid and irrelevent (Tekken is a cooler name than Soul Calibur), and much of your information is wrong. It is LINK who appears in Soul Calibur 2, not Zelda, and Link kicks ass for your information. The overarching difference between the games that makes Soul Calibur a much more enjoyable experience is the weapons-based fighting system. Many different kinds of weapons and characters and play styles to choose from, whereas Tekken, with its punching and kicking, just gets boring real quick. And as a video game composer myself, I have to say that Soul Calibur has better music:) Keep in mind, I have played both Soul Calibur IV (I own it) and Tekken 6. SC > Tekken.

	Tekken's fighting system is definitely getting a stale in this day and age. Thirteen years later and the gameplay hasn't evolved much past Tekken 3... not to mention that graphically, Tekken 6 is basically just a shinier version of Tekken 5 with more jaggies. I don't really care for Tekken's (juggle your opponent for as long as possible) which seems to be the main goal of the developers (and certain fans). That being said, Soul Calibur IV is definitely a lazy game. On the same level of Tekekn 6 actually. The only thing that SCIV has going for it is the graphics and Create a Character mode. The extra modes are a joke and it's baffling to see how little effort they put into the extras after the buffet that was SCIII. Soul Calibur's gameplay hasn't changed much since the first game came out in 1999 (so it's only two years younger than Tekken 3), but even so, SC's gameplay still feels much smoother and less robotic than Tekken's juggle-fest. If I had to rate the series, it would probably go like this. The games are ranked from my personal fun-factor. I'm going by how fun they were for their time: 1. Soul Calibur II 2. Tekken 5 3. Soul Calibur 4. Tekken Tag 5. Tekken 3 6. Tekken 2 7. Soul Calibur IV 8. Soul Blade 9. Soul Calibur III 10. Tekken 4 11. Tekken 6 12. Tekken

	You have got that right for me, Tekken 5 (not DR for some reason meh) and SC2 are probably my fave fighting games ever outside of Guilty Gear XX. SC2 was so good for it's time yet is constantly forgotten as was the Dreamcast original. It looked AWESOME when I was 6 Also SC2 was balanced, seriously, outside of Xianghua everyone was basically equal. At least amongst the die-hard SC crew that still regard it as the pinnacle of the series. SCII may not be as fondly remembered as SCI because it wasn't as "revolutionary", but there's no denying that it improved upon the game in every way. It's kind of strange that SCIII took a few steps backwards in terms of gameplay (poor character balance, glitches, butchered movelists, etc.). SCIV was somewhat of a step in the right direction with (somewhat) better balancing, though it continued to butcher every character's moves. Why is it that many characters have less moves in SCIV than they did in SCII? Pretty stupid. Seems Bamco's really been dropping the ball with their fighter's this generation. Here's to hoping that Tekken 7 isn't just another ugly Tekken 5 rehash and that SCV isn't another bare-bones (though beautiful) step-backwards. I digress though... Cervantes has always been my SC main. I loved him back in the original Soul Blade/Edge game for PS1. Yeah... those were the days when Cervy was the true wielder of both Soul Edges and that emo Nightmare didn't even exist yet.

	I've only played the first Soul Calibur at the Arcades briefly. I have all the Soul Calibur games after that though. I actually like Soul Calibur III a lot. But the CPU was just too hard at times, especially with characters like Setsuka. -------------------

	At least Tekken 6 took some steps forward. If there was no DR update, then everyone would think that there is loads of stuff in 6. But nope, we have something further than DR gameplay wise, but somewhere between 5 and DR in terms of content. Also, Cervantes was also pretty much up there with Xianghua in SC2. Maybe it's just the computer haxxing ultra hard arcade mode because I end up throwing the controller at something (mostly the sofa, don't wanna break my decent controller ) because every time I see his name come up I know I'm going to lose. 	To all the die hard Tekken fans, you know if Tekken 6 had Character creation I would be on the side of Tekken 6. If Tekken 6 had beaten Street Fighter 4 and was crown best fighting game of 2009 than I would be on the side of Tekken 6. Unfortunately, Tekken 6 doesn't have character creation and Namco makes the player play Scenario campaign mode which in fact infinity times worst that character creation. I am not done, that mode is the only way to make money and unlock everything. No way Tekken 6 is better that Soul Calibur 4. Tekken is in fact worst that Soul Calibur 4. For the record, I bought and traded in Tekken 6 three times already. Each time I traded the game in it was for the same reasons. -Unable to Rank up offline. -Forced to play online after reaching first dan ranking mark. -Lag of online due to other players bad connections. -Forced to play Scenario Campaign mode to unlock everything. - Forced to tolerate Scenario Campaign mode bad targeting system. -Forced to paid 63.58 to repurchase the game.In fact the game is worth 15.58. - Unable to create my own character the way I want to. - Force to take character customization which is extremely lame and limited. -Graphics are not up to soul calibur 4 or virtual fighter 5. standards in fact they look worst outdated. - Tekken 6 lacks enjoyment and replay value. To the Die hard tekken fan, where is Tekken 6 award. If Tekken 6 was better that Soul Calibur it should have won twice the awards over Soul Calibur. Discussion is over, Tekken 6 lost. 	I prefer SC over Tekken. I just like the characters, like Tira, way more than Tekken's cast. I don't like the modernity of Tekken. I'd prefer something a little more fantasy-like.

	Kokoro, I never played Soul Calibur 3, but I play Soul Calibur 4, it has the best Soul Calibur roster imo, and the cpu isn't that hard like it is in Soul Calibur 3. I play as Setsuka alot in Soul Calibur 4 and shes alot better in that game I also like Tira, shes funny in Soul Calibur 4. I like Amy too. Out of the guys, I like Nightmare, hes a monster! I also like Rapheal and Seigfried. Of the extra characters, I like Shura My favorite character of all is Cassandra. I also have like 30 created characters I play as. Like I said I never played Soul Calibur 3 because all the rumors about the cpu being harder was a turn off for my personal prefences. I hate Soul Calibur 5, that game is total garbage. Overall I'd pick Tekken simply because it has more games that are good, for me I can only say Soul Calibur 4 is good because thats the only good one I played, I also played Soul Calibur 5, but that game was so awful, it was a Ezio sell out if you ask me.
