However that isn't the case as we KNOW that Screaming Mantis is female.
You can tell by the way S.Mantis' body looks.

Plus Psycho dies right in front of our eyes. No emergency operation to save him, Snake actually SEE'S him die.

Besides, another fact that stamps out the possibility of it being Psycho is the narrator of the BATB trailer.

That completely OBLITERATES the possibility of it being Psycho as Psycho WAS a Soldier before MGS4.

Lol no... Not at all... I was implying that he was saying "It can't be" for a reason other than thinking it was Mantis. Meaning I don't know why he said that.

Snake wouldn't have said it if he had no objections with the guy dieing. Maybe that man is an associate of Snakes? Perhaps an ally on the Militia side? Remember that you can team up with either the PMC or the Militia in MGS4.

If he was merely alluding to the fact that her powers are similar something like "not again" would be more appropriate than "it can't be." Because "it can't be" implies that something that is happening couldn't possibly be happening for all intents and purposes but it still is. So "it can't be" is referring to the fact that Psycho Mantis can't still be alive and Snake is just saying this out of disbelief.
Not that it couldn't be that she can't have the same powers as him, or similar ones. There's definitely a clear connection between her and Psycho Mantis, I believe it goes beyond just the dolls.

Meaning? He was NOT saying "It can't be" to Mantis. Because he clearly had not noticed Mantis (He gasped afterwards). Rather my focus is on the Soldier. There is some significance of the way he dies or who he is.

As mentioned above perhaps it's an associate of Snakes. Or maybe as mentioned earlier he simply died in a similar fashion to what Psycho Mantis could do in MGS1.

My guess would be the latter though. Snake has been mistaken similarly in previous games. For example the silhouette of the Vulcan Raven action figure in the Tanker of MGS2.

I would of said the Beauty and the Beast unit had nothing to do with FOXHOUND, Dead Cell, or the Cobras other than Liquid Ocelot being nostalgic for his old group to transform/name them that way. From a creative standpoint, it would be more of Mr. Kojima enjoying repetition of theme as he often does.
