Metal Gear Solid 4 developer Kojima Productions has detailed the game's forthcoming Trophy support update.
Players won't be able to load their previous save files and earn Trophies based on the player's progress contained in the file; you'll have to play through the PlayStation 3 exclusive again. The developer stated this was necessary to prevent players from gaining Trophies via downloading saves externally.
The full install feature, meanwhile, will allow players to install Metal Gear Solid 4 completely without having to install each chapter. The chapter-by-chapter install was instilled because of the original PlayStation 3 models featuring smaller hard drives. The full install patch will also result in "quick loading times."
More details on the release date for the Trophy full install update will be unveiled during the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event on August 30.
