I really think that people are misunderstanding what Kojima Productions tried to say with that dialog, I think that the sequel they were talking about is MGS4 which is the sequel to MGS2. However, even if they were talking about the fifth Metal Gear Solid game I really wouldn't call it a sequel since Kojima has officially announced in his latest conference that "this is it for Snake", and that this game ends the 20 years old storyline completely, and as he announced before all the story's mysteries should be revealed leaving no loose ends and no gaps in the storyline..

kojima has never been very discreat with what hes planning, hes killing snake, it doesnt mean the end of the series, all 'legends' like snake must die sooner or later, he should have died many years ago during previous missions, but hes soldiered on and i think its about time, especially if fox die is killing him, i doubt he will live throughout the rest of the series, there will most likely be mentions of him

at the bottom in the 'continuation' section, it says he will produce and younger staff will direct, but for snake, its the end

I think this would be sad to see if Kojima does another one. If someone else does a Metal gear series at least discontinue the solid series. Someone else for goodness sake and not Kojima as much as I love his work. I think Kojima needs to work on new stuff, his other games he has done are fantastic and I think its a waste to contain all that ingenuity he has.

I think that I read somewhere that some Konami official said that the next Metal Gear game will not be titled "Solid" but will have another title instead since the Solid saga ends with MGS4..

Yes, even though Kojima said that MGS4 would be his last entry into the series, it would appear he has had a change of heart.

If MGS4 is a hit, he says it would be impossible not to continue the story!

Okay did Hideo mean that he's thinking of a Metal Gear Solid 5 game, or just another Metal Gear game after MGS4? That's what i want to know.

If he says it is impossible not to continue the story, I predict that we definatly wouldn't play as Snake, seeing as he is old enough as he is and only has 6 months to live. Possibly a new character introduced to continue the saga, although if Ocelot dies there is really a main bad guy unless they make another one. Everyday i want this game more and more.
