The thing that pissed me off more than anything was Naomi. Such a pivotal, emotional character in the original (with an awesome accent to boot) was marred with bored lines and emotionless tones and without her accent. After I first heard her voice (after waiting months in anticipation for the game), I knew that this game was not what I thought it was...5 minutes into the game!
I don't know what was up Jennifer Hale's ass during the recording sessions, but she had better give us the A+ performance she did in the original MGS or I will not be a happy fan. Edit: May 17, 08

...and in MGS games the voice acting is usually perfect, and not slobby. Then I guess you never played TTS then... Nope. Don't own the console for it, and neither did I play MGS1. But I do know the Acting on TTS was not as good as MGS1 was on the PS1. But like I said; it's usually perfect acting, that doesn't mean it wont have one game not perfect.

you have not played MGS1...? Well, I only played the Demo of it, but never the full game. I only could play up to the part of where Donald Anderson dies. Then it was Demo over. For the rest I only know stuff about MGS1 and its story by reading what other people have posted about it, Wikipedia, and YouTube clips.

MGS1 is a must play, just play the classic if at all possible instead of playing The Twin Snakes. Don't get me wrong, The Twin Snakes was good, just not as good as the classic game. Well not even close..

The Twin Snakes was pretty much MGS1 meets MGS2 meets DMC2...in other words, not worth the shit on the bottom of my shoe.

Was the accent ever really nessessary? Judging by recent trailers, she doesn't seem to have an accent at all in MGS4.

Was it necessary?! Dude, thats her *bleep*ing character! She needs that accent. Thats like Liquid without his accent (assuming we're talking about Cam Clarke here). But even if she doesn't have it in this one, I expect her acting to be above average/perfect just to accomodate the poor performance she had in TTS.
Tell me, would you like Mei Ling to still not have her accent? Hmmmm?

You don't understand. What I'm getting at here is, why did Naomi ever even have an accent? Logically, she shouldn't have one, while it makes sense that Liquid and Mei Ling do (due to their english and chinese backgrounds respectively).

Wait, are you just suggesting that she was never "supposed" to have one? And why should she "logically" not have one? She was found in Zimbabwe, a foreign nation which, if I remember correctly, was under British control (or someones control) at the time when Fox found her (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). So her accent doesn't seem so far fetched and is there for logical reasons.

Was she not raised in America by Gray Fox? That's what I mean by logically she shouldn't have that accent since she was taken when she was an infant. I just don't really see why you're complaining about the voice acting in TTS when in MGS4 Naomi clearly doesn't sound the same as MGS1 Naomi.

As reaver11 pointed out, The Twin Snakes has had the worst voice acting out of all the MGS games.. They removed Mei Ling's accent and the voice acting just feels robotic with no emotions put into it, unlike the one in the classic version of the game.. I could never play it cause I didn't have the gamecube but I watched the cut scenes on Youtube and ya I realised I wasn't missin much! The acting was nothing compared to the original and everything was in slooooow-mo! Although I like seeing Otacon fall going down to the snow mobile! It was funny but then again that was supposed to bwe the 'sad' ending! heh heh

I really like ocelot and liquid and I hope that ocelot is fighting over his body in this one but I don't mind if liquid is in control most of the time or ocelot
