When you lose a member a countdown clock starts, which you can see on a couple of the menu pages. I think it runs for five minutes after which they can be resummoned at any shield access point.

i lost ghost rider and dr strange like permenately he does appear in my team selection anymore it happened when i accidentally clicked make team and clicked on marvel nights there gone and i beat the game and there still not there
