Questions about a few games... - Page 2

I said the Wii is for shooters lol.

I see, I see. As I said, I've visited what's called the best of the Wii games already. I guess my main problem is that I'm forgetting that I have last gen consoles I can still find quality titles for, that should keep me busy.

Though I've seen some mixed opinions, I believe I can see a few to stay away from. As far as I can tell these are probably bad choices-
Pokemon BR
Downhill Jam
Spiderman 3

All those are titles I considered simply out of light loyalty to their roots. From what I've seen, I should ignore them. I thank all of you leading me away from what really are the lower quality games. Its good to hear sound advice, as far as I can tell anyway.

As for Resident Evil 4, I could not give it higher compliments. I see it as an example of the standard that all games should live by. I've seen firsthand how it puts you in a mental state ripe for thrills and suspense. Heh... I wish I could say it was for me, but survival horror has never been my forte. I realize its not a cookie-cutter shooter and I respect it for that.

As for MP3, I respect it equally. I tried the first Metroid Prime, in fact I own it. I don't regret buying it and I suppose I'll finish it someday. At the same time, I understand that I'm no fan of most first-person shooters. Though I admit the other concepts and features are all attractive. I may pick it up some day.

With all this I mind, I look at this list of B and C titles and I consider carefully- Which of these that remain should I get while I wait for the A and AA titles to come out? What it comes down to is having something fun to kill some time with and some nice multiplayer in for when friends of family are interested.

Excite Truck and Elebits both appear to be too short to kill time with. Trauma Center, Wario Ware, and Cooking Mama will, at some point, be rented by my younger sister to see if she wants to buy them.

Now I'm faced with what remains...
Metal Slug- I admire the Co-op I see in videos and such. Is it not as cool as it looks?

Brain Academy- I see an odd appeal in it that steals my interest for puzzles and logical problems. Does it really get dull quick?

Banana Blitz- As far as I can see, it looks pretty fun. Is it better than the GC titles?

Marble Mania- Hmm... A mix of appeals from Brain Academy and Banana Blitz. Am I wrong? Is it boring?

At this point, I lean toward Banana & Slug. Gross pun. Heh...

Quiet often i've seen Nintendo attempt to market TC as casual... far from it.

I hope your sister is hardcore, and has alot of patients. It can get incredibly hard in places.

Hmm... Such a tough choice. I don't want to spend my extra cash on a bad title, but I do want to give myself, my friends, and my family more of a variety of games. Maybe I should give RE4 a rental at least. I have only tried it on the Gamecube after all.

What really killed my interest in MP3 was the lack of multiplayer. I was really looking forward to the experience, but maybe it will come later...

As for my sister, I have no idea why she is so interested in Trauma Center. I can see the appeal in the game, but why does it appeal to her? A mystery, I admit. Her reply is always-
"It looks fun and unique."
Well, she'll be renting that and Cooking Mama at some point. Also, interesting pun Enigmatic Man. I'm not sure if you noticed it though. They keep popping up. Heh...

Big Brain Academy is not designed as a game to keep you entertained for a long period of time. It is designed for quick bursts of play everyday, hence the whole, "Train your Brain in minutes a day!" mantra. Take the brain test everyday, and try to improve your score. That's about it.

The multiplayer, the few times I tried it, was pretty fun though.

That's exactly what I suspected from the way its marketed. I've been skeptical that it was a game people would sit down and play for hours at a time. If what you say is true, I don't see why I wouldn't enjoy it. I think I'll pick up a title or two this weekend. I'm still trying to find reviews that are more objective. IGN and Game Informer are failing me this time. Heh...
