What are the USB ports actually used for?! i know that you can plug some peripherals into the for power, e.g. powerstation, but what else could they be used for? Your opinion's please...
I don't think there are any official uses for them yet, other than connecting the Wii to the internet if you don't have wifi. But I think there will be things like external hard drives to plug in there eventually. Aren't there also fans you can attach to the back and plug into there, too?
yeah those sort of peripherals were what i was on about. im interested to know if they goin to release external hard disks, because how big is the standard memory on a wii?! I havent got the foggiest!!!
They have to release external hard drives; IT"S A NECESSITY! The Wii memory is about big enough to hold 4-6 N64, so it would be convenient for people who want to download a lot of VC games.
How much can SD cards hold compared to the Wii's memory? Still, if you had a lot of SD cards everywhere it could be a pain trying to find the right one or something.
Oh! What if instead of external memory, there was a device that lets you input multiple SD cards! That way, they can't get lost or confused as easily, the memory would be more accessible, and stuff can still be transferred! That's right. I'm a genius.
A 2 gig SD card, which you can buy for around $30, is around 4 times the Wii's internal flash memory. Also remember that you can delete and redownload any VC games you bought from the internet at anytime, freeing up plenty of space when you need it.
If Nintendo can slap their name on something and get money for it, you know they are going to do it. Especially since it appears Wiiware creators will have almost complete freedom in their game design, I think a harddrive should be popping up sometime next year.
