Universal?

Can my Wii (purchased in U.S) play Japanese games? There is this website I go to where I buy imported games, and the only two Wii`s they had listed were Universal, and Japanese. It says under the Japanese Wii "This system will only run Japanese Wii and gamecube games." Under the universal one it says nothing. Also, under PS2 imported games it says "These games can only be played on a Japanese or modified system." however above the list of Japanese Wii games it says nothing.

I really want to play some Japanese games on my Wii, will it work, or should I just buy another Wii (Japanese).

PM me if there is any way anyone knows how to modify it to play Japanese Games...

EDIT: I am just gonna buy a Japanese Wii.
