N64 games are around 32MB, and although I have none of those, I have a bunch of SNES games(I'm sure those are quite a few MBs) and a few NES. I started off with around 2500 blocks, now I have less than 1500. With even more VC titles, such as Majora's Mask and a bunch of others, and new channels eventually coming out, I won't have much space. Any downloadable content for future games is bound to take up space, as well.

An 80GB iPod is 4.1 x 2.4 x 0.55 (in.), including all the buttons, the screen, the battery, and everything else. I'm sure a much smaller 100GB HDD could come out for the Wii and connect via USB with 200 times the space. Nintendo is planning to push the online connectivity more(original games on the Shop Channel, downloadable content confirmed for games like Zelda, etc) and 512 MB just won't cut it. An SD card will work for a while, but it has less space and is more expensive than an HDD.

Really? I havnt been able to download any VC games yet to see for myself, but I was bored one day and looked up some Wii hacks, just to see if there was anything interesting out, and stumbled upon a forum. The hackers their, after looking at the VC data, trying to get it to work on other consoles, said that the data was unusually large, and even the save data was larger then it should be. After looking at the code more, they started to think that each individual game you download had its own emulater with it, designed for that one game.

So instead of having a N64 emulator that plays all N64 games, build into the system, they thought every seperate game ran on its own special emulator. That was purly speculation tho. If the games are normal size, then idk what they were talking about. Have you checked the VC gmes on a computer, or just checked a ROM filesize?
