WiiConnect24 = Heat?

I think I saw someone mention this on the forums a while back, but I dismissed it because it hadn't happened to me yet. Ever since I got it, my Wii has had a tendency to get a little hot. I assumed, however, that it was just because I had been playing TP for 8 hours straight.

It turned out, though, that my Wii was getting hot even when it had been off for an entire day. Wondering what the problem could be, I turned the console all the way off, disabling WiiConnect24. The heat dissipated.

This isn't a major problem for me, mostly because I don't really see WiiConnect24 as that big of a deal. Also, when I say hot, bear in mind I mean about as hot as the side of your router after being left on for a few months. Nowhere near as hot as, say, a 360 after a few hours of play.

if you care so much then just run a fan behind your wii to cool it off.

anyway it does that because wii connect 24 doesnt use the cooling fan.

Unless you see flames coming from your Wii, you shouldn't worry.

WiiConnect24 uses the same power as a small watt light bulb. It's gonna get a little hot, but not to a point where you have to worry about it.

I doubt it. I know Nintendo said that, but chances are, it uses quite a bit more power than that. Keep in mind the processor has to work, the power supply has to work, the video card has to be ready to run at a moment's notice, and the Wifi has to work.

Back on topic though, it should be a bit warm, but nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't start smoking.

Feel a 360 after a couple of hours of gameplay and then feel the Wii. If the 360 can handle that much heat, a little from the Wii shouldn't be too bad...

Come to think of it, it seemed odd that the discs coming out of my Wii were always warm. I hardly see it escalating though, and my room is usually cold anyways.

Yea, I've noticed this too. If I leave it off for a while, it gets a little warm. When I turn it on tho, it cools off. I just assumed it was because the fans didnt run while WiiConnect24 did..
