	Log in to remove this sponsored message quote N-Europe is reporting that Nintendo of Europe has confirmed the use of console specific friend codes for Wii rather than the inconvenient game specific friend code system used by the DS for online play. While good news if true, we're a bit perplexed by the site's sourced Nintendo page that makes no mention of a one friend code per console. UK-based Wifi Gamers points to the following Nintendo of Europe page that suggest the use of a single console account ID without making a direct correlation to online play. We're betting Nintendo knows their single game code system for DS compromises usability and expect it be remedied for Wii (one can hope, right?), but take this one as rumor until we hear it from the horse's mouth. Source Although I hate the FC idea maybe this could work out if it turns out to be true. I hate having to copy down down new friend codes on my DS each time I get a new game.

Yeah me too, but on the bright side you don't have to copy down a new code everytime you get a new game. Everyone knew that they would be incorperating FC's so this shouldn't be a shock. Hopefully these FC's are short and easy to memorize like a phone number.

	It does, really. I never would have known if it was in the other thread. Anyways, finally, Nintendo is getting their online play right . The DS friend codes were a pain in the ass when it came to multiple games. I'm glad just a single friend code can solve all troubles. My guess is that console friend codes would be 9 digits. Any less would not be looking forward. Also, launch buyers would be getting the best numbers . Other than one unlucky buyer, all of the other buyers in NA will only need to memorize 6 digits only.

	It still would be better if it was done like the Xbox, but it isn't, and we can't do anything about it. A single friend code would be much easier than one for every single game. It would also be nice if we could chose our own codes. 6688846993. -------------------

	Ask yourself: Did you think I wasn't expecting a response like that? Memorising even ONE friend code is a chore for most people. Most people would have to write down their indivdual friend codes anyway (or save them to the system). Most people have an upper limit of two or three friend codes. Some people cannot even memorise one. For those people, whether it's one or ten doesn't make a difference. The point is that they cannot remember any of them. Now I personally have no trouble with remembering friend codes, but a lot of people do. And of course, if it can be saved to the system, where's the problem in having different friend codes? 	Exactly, if people can memorise one code which is unlikely to be more than 16 digits, they can probably memorise the lot. I mean, I bought MP:H well over a week after it came out, and it still started with 000-0. And they probably will, the Wii is coming out in NA well before any other country, so chances are that the first 1 million Wiis produced will be the first 1 million sold.
