Nintendo has admitted that they are faced with the task of getting people to "understand" the Wii U.

According to Nintendo of America's senior director of corporate communications Charlie Scibetta, potential consumers won't understand the console unless they have actually used the next-gen platform. In order to to achieve this, they'll have to get the console into the hands of as many gamers as possible.

"It can appeal to people all ranges in terms of their gaming ability."

The company will be utilizing the similar marketing strategy used for both the Wii and DS devices.

"A big part of our strategy has been and will continue to be trial, getting it in as many people's hands as possible."

Scibetta added that the Wii U is at its best when studios uses its unique features.

"When a publisher creates a game experience that is custom... that's when you really see the magic happen."

Nintendo recently detailed the Wii U hardware, as well as the GamePad with an infographic. The latter, meanwhile, will feature up to 3 to 5 hours of battery life.
