Getting a Wii
|
Well, I figured since they were pretty cheap for a console now, and they look fun, why not get one? But then I remembered that the Wii U was also coming out. So my question is, is there any point in getting a Wii right now(I don't want to buy one then return for less than half of what I payed for pretty soon, and I don't use Ebay) since the Wii U has been announced? Appreciate your opinions and input. Thanks!

The Wii U is way to overhyped ATM IMO..... I don't recommend buying a Wii right now. The price is beyond compare, as I payed $300+ for mine. Even so, the land of Wii is pretty desolate right now. Most of the titles are done rolling out. The most recent noteworthy title would have to be Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. If you want to be occupied and don't mind STILL shelling out $100 for a 5 year old system, then go ahead. It has a ton of replay-ability, plus it has had it's fair share of excellent titles.

I suggest waiting 1 year to buy a Wii U, download GameCube games, and buy Wii and Wii U games.

When Wii U comes out, it is going to be more expensive than an original Wii.

I don't know hardly anyone who uses it. In other news, the Wii has been out for far longer than Kinect and isn't purely for motion control - the games are nice too! That said, the Wii U is being worked on and will introduce new features that will undoubtedly attract their fanbase once again.

I guess that's true, just i've been pretty behind when it comes to these other gaming consoles and developments lately (due to school) i admit though, i haven't heard of this Wii U. do you have any info on what the features will be yet? or is that yet to be released?

Depends. I used my Wii non-stop as a gaming console for 3 years straight before getting an Xbox in February, last year. You'll have a lot of fun with it and if you can get it cheap then I suggest getting one. It's a cute console and it offers a lot considering all the 'best' games are out and ready to buy straight away. But if you're definately going to get the Wii U when it's released then you might aswel wait as you wouldn't be giving the Wii enough credit with the amount of playable time left before the Wii U is released. The games on the Wii will make the waiting game fly past, especially if you're also going to wait for the Wii U to go down in price too. There's a lot of Gamecube and Wii games you just have got to play though. You'd have so much fun.
