If a new console is announced at E3 this year, then it probably won't be released until next year or even the year after. The Wii (or, uh, "Revolution") was originally revealed at E3 2005, (and then the controller at the Tokyo Game Show in September), over a year before it actually launched in November 2006.

Portable device? What the hell are you talking about? This is about Nintendo's next home console. No-one's said anything about a new portable console.

I'm fine with it having a touch screen on it, but I 100% need a real analog stick or two on my controller.

I doubt they'll push 3D hard. They have said numerous times with the launch of the 3DS that they don't believe in 3D with glasses. It may all be posturing to sell their system with a 3D screen, but Nintendo tends to be pretty firm in saying what they truly believe. (At least the Japanese guys).

Being 3D ready is another story though. Gamecube had 3D tech built in from launch, it was just never commercially used. I would be surprised if N6 isn't 3D ready out of the box, even if the ability to play 3D is disable for a few years to let glasses-free TVs get on the market.

Yup. No way in hell am I using touch screen buttons. Try playing Mega Man 2 on iPhone, it's awful.

What are the chances of there being a super smash bros games for this Nintendo Wii 2? Super smash bros brawl is a great game, hope there be a new one.

I hope that the Nintendo Wii2 has DLC, so games like super smash bros brawl can get new character or get character later on since they could be short on time. In super smash bros brawl some character got removed, since they were short on time, but with DLC then that won't be a problem.

Is the Nintendo wii2 backward compatible with Nitendo wii and gamecube games? How will the virtual games transfer form Wii1 to the Wii2?

Yeah, I think a Smash Brothers game on a Nintendo console is almost guaranteed.

They could probably hand it off to someone else at this point, either regroup the team that put Brawl together with a new director or give it back to HAL.

So, you guys put in stock in the notion this will get announced at the Nintendo investor's conference next week?
