Picked up MvC3 today. Oh my God, is it fun. Strange, because I hate most fightign games, but it has this new Simple control option that makes it so easy to pull off specials, it makes it fun for anyone to play. Though it seems the female characters are so much better than the guy ones from who I've played so far. So far, Morrigan, Trish, Ammy, and Crimson Viper are my favorites

I wouldn't in all honestly. Bulletstorm seems to be fun, but will likely get old quikc, I just cant see the skill shot system being replayable for non high-score junkies. And I would disagree with that statement: though while FPSs nowadays for the most part are not original, many of them are extremelly high quality if you like the genre.

I'm not sure if this was in TvC or not, but this new "simple" system (that's it's name), removes all difficulty to pull off specials and makes it like Smash Bros. What I mean is to pull off a hadouken, you don't need to do Quarter circle+K or to do some move don't need to do Down-Down-Right+H, you just press one button or hold the stick in a direction and button (hold down+Y for Shurouken, just press Y for Hadouken).

I'm frustrated there is no Wii version of MvsC3. I get why, third party games don't sell well on Wii, but man is it frustrating. Also wish they would have ported MvsC3 to 3DS instead of SSF4, but that's another rant.

Actually, I'm not all the concerned anymore. My favorite part of fighting games is the variety of characters, and Capcom reducing the roles by twenty from MvC2 strikes me as a poor choice and one that makes me a whole lot less likely to make the investment to play.

As a casual gamer, the mechanics that this titles offers is more than enough to keep me busy and fulfilled for a good, solid month.

Exactly, there's no other reason that this genre has turned into what it has over the past decade if it didn't click with the demographic it was meant for(which I can easily admit includes me).

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I actually like that decision. They trimmed down the cast by 20, but it's a better cast. All the characters feel different, more varied, and balanced (few exceptions like Sentinal. cheap bastard). Plus, they're gonna add in some through DLC, like 4-6, then figure an Ultimate Edition ala SSFIV or something next year which'll add even more. So yeah, they vut down on characters to get the game out sooner and so they could make more money off it later. But I'm not complaining. Game still kicks ass.

I don't really care about the balance, honestly. As long as you can beat the campaign with a normal level of practice with any character, I'm fine with it. I don't play competitively, but even if you do, its not like every character on the roster will be considered "Tourney Worthy", no matter what the developers do.

I'll also always take more characters over all unique characters any day of the week. Having characters with similar moves but different physics is not such a bad thing, especailly if you'd still have the same number of "original" characters even with the "clones". Take SSBM for example. Everyone complains about the clones, but characters like Luigi, Falco, and Ganondorf all play incredibly differently than their counterparts, even with similar move animations. In fact, I would argue that having a variety of different play options for a specific type of moveset are even more interesting then a set of completely unrelated moves, as they give players more choices of styles if they really like those specific cloned moves.

And I don't even want to get started on DLC. Paying for more characters that should have been in the game from the start is why I refuse to support DLC in any way.

Actually, screw it, I think I'll just get Marvel vs Capcom 2 off the PS Store for 10 bucks.
