And L_arc, there is a proper hack. It's already outdated, but they've made hacks. One team is even doing a fan translation of a PS3 game using it already.

One of my friends got CoD MW2 for the PC and he said there were a ton of hacked games there. I wonder if hackers just move to easier systems where they won't get permabanned?

Pretty much. That's why you don't see hackers on 360 or on PS3 yet. Because their online security is so tight that if you even log on to XBL/PSN with a hacked account to cheat online, they'll notice it soon if not right away, and you'll be perma'd.

The Wii's online on the other hand...lol. You can prevent yourself from being banned and even bypass a ban with a freaking code that 10 year olds know how to use.

The source of the problem? The cheaters?

The only reason they flourish on the Wii's online IS because of the lack of security (source). As far as I'm concerned, Nintendo never gave a damn about online features in the first place.

1. Fix the online next gen, because there's NOTHING Nintendo can do to fix the Wii.

Are you implying that the only way to stop cheaters is to make cheaters change their ways? Since you're saying they're the source of the problem. Nonsense. There's no converting cheaters, just preventing (security) and exterminating (ban). Which the Wii and Nintendo do not do.

Every single one of Nintendo's consoles have been easily hacked, they obviously just don't give a shit about their console's security. Or they just plain suck at it.

I mean, look at Sony (if you've been keeping up). They quickly put the hacker community to a (perhaps permanent) standstill in a matter of DAYS. Not only that, but they PHYSICALLY stopped the distribution of PSjailbreak and its clones. They're physically going after the sellers and buyers. Nintendo has done none of this. They can't do any of this. You can hack a damn Wii with an SD card. They tried banning flashcards, and failed at that too.

Anyways, the 3DS is supposed to be very hack-proof. Not 100%, because everything can be reverse-engineered, but very hack-proof nonetheless.

Also, the reason why no one hacked the PS3 is because no one's really interested in it. There are a few ways now, but they aren't 100%. You can at least patch stuff and pirate, so far as I know.

You must have just been unlucky. I almost never hear of people complaining about cheaters on XBL. Microsoft stays on top of stuff like that.

Blaming cheating on Nintendo is like arresting the manager of a bank that get's rob. The self righteousness of cheaters who believe they can get away with something simply because they aren't punished for it just galls me to no end.

I don't care how good or bad anyone security is. People who cheat online games ruin the experience for honest players, and should be shunned at every possible instance by anyone who considers themselves even remotely moral.
