It was all thanks to the Wii's "casual family gaming" gimmick that F-Zero never had a chance to survive. If this franchise was owned by Sony(God forbid), things would have been entirely different.

That's stupid. Pikmin 1 and 2 were both ported to Wii, and Miyamoto said they were making a new Pikmin after E3 three hundred years ago.

Although now that you mention, what Nintendo is doing is stupid too.

3) It's ironic, Nintendo and MS/Sony are switching places. It seems now that the HD consoles are focusing more on "casual" games while Nintendo is focusing on the core audience.

5) Pikmin 3 has been confirmed by Miyamoto. The reason we don't have trailers and stuff yet is because Nintendo likes to only release thoes less than 6 months before release and they also like to space their games out. My guess is that we'll be getting Pikin early Q2 next year.

How about proving your original reason was correct?

F-Zero Wii, if ever created, would only disappoint fans. The Wii would add nothing to what GX did, since graphics would be the same, motion controls would be too slow, and Wifi wouldn't do 30 player vs. with any kind of quality. Much better off waiting a developing a really great F-Zero for 3DS or Nintendo 6.

Holding back a franchise until there is a good reason to make a new game is one of the best decisions a company can make, and Nintendo is one of the few companies with the freedom and other IPs to be able to do it successfully. It worked great for Metroid, and will most likely do so for F-Zero as well.
