Backlog Commitment Thread - A Summer Special

So, what are you supposed to do during the dog days of the summer. Others would have you believe that you should go run around outside, throw a Frisbee, go swimming, play volleyball, or build a sand castle. But we here at the General Wii Forum know better than that, what better way to spend your free summer time than by playing video games! Now if you're like me, you probably have a HUGE backlog of old games to get through, but never have enough time during the school year to get through them all. So, why not devote some of your free time this summer to clearing your backlog? That's where this thread comes in!

Here's the deal: post a game and then your proposed completion date and try to meet that goal. If you finish your game within that time frame, yay, you get a point and can start a new game and goal. But if you fail, um...you will be scorned by the community and will have to set a new goal. Whoever can complete the most games in their backlog by the end of the summer will then receive a virtual high-five from everybody that participates. How's that for motivation? And for your convenience, this is NOT for Wii games only, feel free to eliminate games in your backlog from ALL systems.

I'll start:

I vow to complete Dragon Quest VIII by Friday July 10.



New rules in effect:

1. You may NOT post more than FIVE games that you are currently working on. Once you complete one, you may then add an additional game to your list. Thanks.

2. If you complete a game within your projected goal, you will earn TWO points. If you miss your target goal or do not make one, you will receive ONE point. From now on, you will only be able to make a target goal when you first post which game you will try to complete to avoid abusing the system for extra points.

Haha, and I thought my backlog was big!

Yeah, I would assume most people's summer breaks aren't starting today, so I guess you can instantly add whichever games you've beaten since you got out of school. I got out early June. But since people got out of school at different times, for fairness' sake, should we just let everybody add games they've beaten since May?

And by an index, do you mean a list of every participant and his/her completed games so far?

Well, to be honest, it looks like you would already win if we started from May, so let's just start from here on out so everybody is at zero and has an equal chance at winning.

And I'll go add the index to the first post after we get a few more people in on this so the first post doesn't have like a million edit tags.

My backlog isn't too bad, be nice to get some of them finished though. Then again, being out of school means summers are pretty much the same for me as the rest of the year, so I don't really have a specific reason to play. Anyway, I need to finish up:

I'm taking part in a Summer School Math course for the remainder of this month(and I'm vacationing for the first week of August), so I probably won't be able to participate this year.

I just beat Star Fox, but I didn't have it listed. Does that count?

Again? I never beat Star Fox in the first place. Besides, the TV the Wii was hooked up to was being used for the show on the Esplanade. Sweet Carolineeee~~~~
