Friend's Wii needs help

A friend of mine owns a Wii and lately it's been cutting out of the middle of the game and giving a "An error has occurred" screen. It mostly happens with Fire Emblem. The disc is fine, considering he gets reading errors from his scratched up version of Mario Golf. It's been happening a lot recently and it just seems to cut out randomly with no pattern to it.

So, any ideas or advice?

I think the reason no-one's replied is because we're all getting sick of telling people to call Nintendo.

It probably has something to do with the lens, so there's really nothing you can do yourself if you don't like opening things up and being risky.

It could also simply be that certain game in itself, so try out a different game and see if you get the same outcome.
