Controller cleaning

Well, my little brother spilt a bunch of coke all over my wii controller. My luck. But the controller still works, but all the buttons stick and are hard to push down. How do I clean it without destroying it. I had the same problem with my gamecube controller, but when I put water in it to clean it, black liquid came out and now it doesn't work. I don't want that to happen with my wii one. Any tips and tricks to doing this? Anyone else have this kind of situation?

I don't want to send it in. I'm going to try opening it and seeing what I've got. I'm doing that with the GC controller to, but like you said, I need a special screw driver. Its annoying. Any more tips?

If you have a video camera, set it up and record the process.. Unless you think you can put i back together with no help. Id just rather be safe then sorry haha

Also, if you do open it and try to fix it yourself.. i think it voids the warranty if they found out somehow.

about the screwdriver thing, i dotn think youll be able to get one anywhere. You could try with a phillips head but im not sure sorry.

Yes, Nintendo are extremely kind when it goes to equipment being broken or not working. You should just send it in and they'll send it back.

when my friend spilt coke on his ps3 controller he put rubbing alcohol where the button were and it fixed it.

IT WORKED!!! The controller is perfectly fine now. I cant believe it worked. Thanx so much Sakuraba Neku. And it worked on my Gamecube controller. Although the GC controller was in much worse condition. I cleaned it, and a bunch of the buttons are working again, but the up on the c-stick wont work, and the joy stick wont work at all. Any tips on fixing these couple things, because I cant really use the controller if the analog stick is broken. I tested it on Metroid prime so I kinda do need the up on the c-stick. Anyone that has played those game would know why.
