Australian gamer is playing Mother 3 in school.

Someone comes up behind him asking curiously, "Is that Pokemon?"

But the fail doesn't stop there.

A second person comes up, eventually the topic drifts to Pokemon entirely, "Isn't Pokemon a TV show?"

The gamer is naturally face-palming stating, "It was a game first, just like Yu-Gi-Oh! The shows are what increased sales but at the same time turned them solely into kid's things"

The none gamer looks surprised and ask in disbelief, "Yu-Gi-Oh was a show first too?"

The gamer can't beleive the stupidity of some people as he says, "How do you make something that complex a show first? The show is what made it popular outside Japan, just like Pokemon!"

Both non gamers are relatively surprised, "Pokemon's Japanese!?"

True story.

I've had almost a similar story, except it wasn't that bad.

I was playing EarthBound in class, and some kid comes up to me and asked "is that Pokemon?" So I say "No, it's EarthBound" (it looks like the kids of our nation have trouble distinguishing Pokemon from other RPGs.) He then asks "Is it Mario then?" (I guess he thinks gaming character who where hats are Mario.) And I say, "No, I told you, it's EarthBound".

He then said "Pokemon's gay" and walked off.

Once, I was playing Shooting Star Rockman 3 in class (In NA and PAL reigons it's Megaman Star Force) and some kid is all like "Dude, Yu-Gay-Hoe (yes, he said that. some new word to make fun of Yu-Gi-Oh) sucks balls" and i'm like "It's not Yu-Gi-Oh, it's Megaman" and he's like "oh sorry your gay, I understand, go play wiht your Barbie shit." and then he walks away and some kid comes and says "Is that Pokemon"?


Then Big A2's thing happens, just replace Earthbound with SSR3.



Also, i think MOTHER is better than MOTHER2 and MOTHER3. It just has a better charm, i guess.
