2. The first game is ridiculously hard (in Hoa's experience anyway....?)

and the first game that was about him was "Mario is Missing" on the SNES, about 20 years later, Luigi's mansion came out.

Hmm to clarify my hints I guess.

1. He jumps EXTREMELY high, so high that the sequel uses both DS screens to allow exploration not only on the ground, but in the treetops too.
2. In the original game, a princess is kidnapped by a bunch of ninjas, and this ninja goes to save her - typical NES story I guess.
3. Games are made by Taito.

If no one gets it by tomorrow I'll give the answer XD;; ... I have repeated the jumping bit. This is this character's most distinctive ability.
