bbb7002004 is exactly right even if Wii did release a next-gen system they'd still have no third-party support. Basicly they did something different, and it saved their ass really.


While still having all those good games Gamecube had too. I see no difference in how much satisfaction GC gave me compared to Wii. Except for Wii is getting new titles like Little kings story,Conduit,Mad World, and Disaster Day of Crisis. Really Wii's game library is already looking better then GC's I hated my GC compared to my PS2 too.

It's more of them being saved by their name and nothing more, casuals have too much faith in Nintendo to not think their systems are great. Plus, they're focusing WAY too much time into their first party 'training' games.(Brain Training, Vision Training...)

First of all, where were all those 'casuals' last gen? They obviously weren't on the GameCube.

Second of all, how many of those training games, aside from Brain Training, have gotten sequels? I'm not going to post a list personally, but Wikipedia has a pretty good list that shows that it isn't all training games. Surely not enough to be 'focusing way too much time' on them.

That's not neccessarily a good thing though. While the PS3 and 360 focus on a more hardcore audience, the Wii is aiming at everyone. So naturally they will get good sales if they are aiming for everyone from a kindergarten kid to great grandma Patty. And these games aren't always good (e.g. Mario and Sonic Olympics). The only problem, as someone previously mentioned in this thread, is that Nintendo's "hardcore" audience isn't really getting focused on. Their primary audience is the casual gamer, and the "hardcore" audience only get a game every now and then.

Okay I know I said I was leaving but I had to say something.

First off, I'm not trolling/flaming, I just don't get how people think games like Phantom Hourglass are anything that could be considered a gem.

Just to make something clear here that I obviously didn't before.

I'M NOT TRYING TO SAY THEIR HARDCORE GAMES ARE BAD. And I know that completely contradicts one of my posts, but just hear me out.
I'm just saying they're obviously trying to milk their franchises for all they're worth, like any gaming company, But they should AT LEAST live up to their predecessors.
Nintendo has their head in the clouds, sure they get a great title here and their, but it's almost always because they stuck to the game's core, and didn't change too much with the control systems on the Wii and DS.

And I have all three of those games Akira, (Rondo, TWEWY, EO). And sure They're fun, but they leave me discontent.
Mainly because their new games usually lack depth, And when they do, it's almost bound to be in the wrong areas.

I agree completely. while mario galaxy, tp, and brawl are fun, that's it. There are no other games I even consider buying. I should buy metriod, but I haven't. Wii fit is BORING. Its not a game, its not a video game. If i wanted to do that, i would do it in real life. Anything else has been mini games or little kid crap. And a note on maturity. A more mature game does not mean blood and gore necessarily. It could also have more mature themes, and not making sure the kiddies understand it. A more deep and serious story line.

Also on the case of Ds. I haven't bought a new game since phantom hourglass. Now I know that means I don't own The world ends with you. I've never even herd of it before I saw i on neo. I may bu that because Iv herd its good. ANWAYS, I have (and still play) Mario cart ds, phantom hour glass, final fantasy 3, and Pokemon diamond. I haven't seen or herd any other games (except the world end with you and metroid hunters) That look interesting. I own the Kirby games, but no longer play them, so Kirby fans don't attack me. Anyways, I think Pokemon diamond deserves its own paragraph.


Before you get on my case, I liked Pokemon diamond. I had fun. I liked leveling up my Pokemon. The problem with it took a while for me to figure out. I had beet the elite 4, I was leveling up my Pokemon for wifi play, when why I didn't like this game as much as my old blue game hit me. It came to me that I never went through any large dungeons. If you played pokemon red, blue or yellow, you probably remember the sliph-co building. It was a sixteen flour building that was filled with trainers. There was mount moon, which for being early in the game, was quite long. There was rock dungeon, and quite a few others. Gold and silver was massive in length, have 16 gym leaders, so It is forgiven. I never played the 3ed generation, and I don't know why I didn't. And all the fourth has is wifi, which has the friend code problem, I can't stand friend codes. Anyways, I just needed to say that.


All in all, I made a post and went completely of topic.

That'd be a bit pointless considering we'd be moving on to the next set of consoles. Who wants a console that only accounts for the hardcore game come the end of its lifetime? I have my Wii now, and right now I don't want to play it.
