WTF FAN?

in the middle of the night last night, my external Wii fan started making weird noises.
i took it out of the USB port at 6am when i left for school and i just sprayed some of the dust off with condensed air, plugged it back in but it still sounds really loud and clanks.
i wanna keep my fan because my Wii was really warm when i got home and i like it being cool.
any advice?
PS- i got it back in february and its been running perfectly till 5:am this morning.

well my wii has ran smoother with the fan. and how could it do harm if all its doing is pushing air to keep it cool?
i don't want to shut off my Wii because i like to keep it on standby just incase someone texts my wii (since i dont have it on my cell phone)

how i figure is that the external fan just takes extra power from the socket and transfers through the Wii and the fan pushes air outside and brings any hot air from the wii through the fans.

well does anyone have any help what so ever? i want my Wii to be cool amd not warm.

dont use the fan anymore, simple as that.

The fan takes a TON of power from the Wii and can cause a short circuit, because it's taking so much power, that the Wii isn't getting enough. This happens with the fans for all 3 consoles. They void the warranty because they use so much power.

Don't use the fan. They really do more harm than good.

Computers in general use very very small currents. The power blocks built into the power cord lower the voltage coming into the Wii to a suitable level to power the device. While a small fan may not use much power in respect to ordinary devices like lights, it is using a lot more power than your Wii ever needs, and hence is designed to handle safely.
