Katherine Tailor looked at her boyfriend, Troy Thomas, with affection. She wondered what her life would be like with him; she hoped her life would be with him. He was everything she needed.
She wasn’t listening to a single world he as saying, she was too preoccupied with the lovely features on his face and that smile that would last an eternity. It was all just a dream come true.
“Katherine, I really think we should leave this house,” He muttered to her in a shaky voice. Oh she knew he was scared of this stuff, it made her laugh mostly. He always cuddled so close to her when she played horror games that weren’t even scary, well in her eyes anyway.
“Oh stop being a scaredy cat, it’s not like this place is going to eat us,” She laughed in reply, shrugging his pleas away. He knew he wasn’t going to get his word across to her, she was just that stubborn.
“Well, at least I’m more cautious than you, don’t come blaming me if I see your head levitating off the ground, saying lines from some Shakespeare play,” He replied, shaking his head and walking further away from the house.
The house they were planning to enter was modern, it looked any other house. The thought it was haunted was stupid, modern houses these days were not haunted because that’s just old. The porch was made out of rich brown wood, which was extremely strong beneath their feet. Katherine was assured nothing was going to happen.
“You’ve watched me play Eternal Darkness too much,” She laughed, shaking her head and waving her hand, “don’t worry, my head is not going to fall off and it won’t be haunted because this house is just too modern. Get a grip Troy, come on.”
Katherine turned away from Troy, as he shook his head a final time, signalling that she was going to have to enter the house alone, although that didn’t really bother her. She opened the door, which silently opened, allowing her to think that this house was certainly looked after correctly.
A figure appeared before her, which at first startled her but as she calmed down her breathing, she walked forward to see who it was.
“Hello?” She called out, walking closer even if she shouldn’t.
“Katherine, is someone in there? Don’t go near them! I’ll be right with you!” Troy yelled out to her, worried. She heard running footsteps go up the wooden stairs of the porch and the loud slam of the door closing.
Loud, hard banging shook the door hard with strong vibrations, Katherine had been locked in and Troy was scared.
“Katherine! Please unlock the door so I can come through! Katherine!” Troy yelled out to her, but Katherine turned away from the door.
She was in some sort of hypnotic state; she seemed to forget everything about Troy, who he was, why they were even there.
“Come closer Katherine, leave Troy far behind. You don’t need him, what’s inside this house is much more important than some red-head,” The light female voice said to Katherine, as she felt a sudden need to walk more into the house.
Katherine became confused, the shadowing figure was not the same structure of a female, and it looked more male. Maybe the woman was somewhere else in the room.
Katherine stopped in her tracks as common sense seemed to catch up to her. What had made her forget about Troy, why didn’t she help him out, even more importantly why was she listening to this strange female voice? The banging of Troy on the door had stopped long ago and Katherine wasn’t even sure he was outside.
“Who are you? Do you live in this house?” Katherine asked, unsure who to talk to or where to look.
“Yes, now please come into the kitchen, there’s something important there that you may be interested in,” The female voiced replied in a soft and soothing purr, that made Katherine want to trust her.
Katherine shook her head with discomfort, she was going to have to stick strong here, and she couldn’t lose herself when she had no idea of what was going on.
“No, not until you tell me who you are,” She replied with strong courage, unbreakable fear that nothing could effect.
The woman stepped forward, showing herself to be around the same height as Katherine. From the look of the dim light the room had to offer, her hair was tied in a ponytail. Sudden light turned on, allowing
Katherine to study the woman’s features to a further extent. She had blue eyes and a striking resemblance to someone she knew.
“I’m Claire Redfield and you know my brother,” She then announced, a look of anger on her face, she then pointed into the chest of Katherine and muttered with anger, “where is he?”
Katherine put her hands up, of course she knew Chris Redfield, and anyone would from the incident that occurred at the bar. He could have possibly ended up in the hospital or the jail for that reason. The question was how did she come to know that information?
“Yes, I know your brother, but what makes you think I’d know where he is?” Katherine asked her with a strong voice, hiding the deep fear within her.
“Because… I told her,” A deeper voice replied from behind Claire and Katherine recognised it, she was suddenly scared for herself… her life.
I'm currently writing chapter 2. I prefer writing something new, than transferring old work to this forum.
