Franchise mode question.
|
Okay, I started a franchise and i did fantasy draft. When the season was over, I went into Owner-Mode Offseason, but my salary cap was -$15 million. I lost all my players that were due to become free agents and i couldn't sign any of my draft picks. Then, I didn't have enough players on my roster so I couldn't start another season. I simmed many seasons and whether I won the Super Bowl or went 0-16 I still had a huge hole in my salary cap, and my franchise was destroyed. Anyone know how to prevent this?

You probably had too many expensive players or somethin.
1. Go to the "My Team" menu and go to "Team Info". Right next to the picture of the coach where the box is with all your team's information, under that it should say "Clear Cap Penalties" select that and you should have money. Not alot but its enough to get you over.
2.Re-signing some of your short-term players (when you get to "Re-Sign Player", theyre the players with 2 and 3 years left on their contracts) increases the cap.
When you re-sign players, sign them to long-term contracts.
TIP: When re-signing players, try increasing and/or decreasing the "Total Salary" and "Signing Bonus" and watch your cap room change. First try to increase/decrease the SB depending on whichever way makes it go up and then try to increase/decrease the TS in the same respect until the "Player Interest" bar goes red.
Thats how you can milk their contracts for as much money as you can, saving ALOT of cap room if you do it right.
Experiment with it. Thats the EXACT answer to your problem, trust me.
And look at the roster list and scroll through the players attributes, lookin at the thing that says "SAL" (Right next to "AGE" and SPD"). That amount says how much money that person takes up. Release him and thats how much money youll get back into your cap room.
Obviously the people with the biggest SAL are the best players on your team but after the draft, it may just be your 1st round draft picks/real good rookies. So sign 1st rounders to long-term contracts (6/7 years) and milk the contracts.
You shouldnt try to sign every single pick if you dont have alot of room. Dont try to sign everybody and end up with like $500k left in your cap cuz itll be even worse next year. If the player doesnt have at least a 79 overall, release him. He'll cost you too much. Just fill the roster and scrap the extras.

when you do a fantasy draft, dont pick the best best players that cost millions of dollars each. for example, pick a not so good RB, like Frank Gore, instead of LT. That way, your players are not very expensive, and yet in 2-3 years, they will be in the mid 90's
