Tracks!?!?

Ok, im always moaning bout the difficulty of this game on the HARD setting but over the last couple of weeks im sure ive put in about 70 hours and i seem to have come to terms with most of the grievences i had about it. However, there are still 2 or 3 tracks that im just hopeless on, namely Albert Park, Monte Carlo and The Brazilian Track. Does anyone who particularly likes any of these races have any pointers for someone like me, maybe some recommendations for my car setup (i find race car evolution to be useless), i'd be very greatful. Thanks in advance guys for any help.

re: Tracks!?!?

RCE is pretty useless. Set the diff to speed is all I can think of. Those tracks i am quite good at as well! I guess just brake only when you really need to. Other than that i dont hink i can be of much help im afriad.

re: Tracks!?!?

well in australia on hard i roughly lap the same as the computers on hard, but i did use to be around 2 secs slower. All i did was keep practising. Monaco, i just give up, but on f1 05 i wz good at it. Brazil i am around 2 secs quicker, but i have some tips. In the 1st corner come out from really wide, then cut in getting as close to the barrier, then take the next 2 corners flat out, and you can gain half a second. Also in the 3 harpin midway through the lap, just through the 2nd harpin, they go really slowly, so utilize this well, and you cna past 2 or 3 cars.

re: Tracks!?!?

I don't mind Catalunya too much though its not an easy race for me

... but saying that, I was never that good at this race on Formula One 97, though it was my first ever win on a PlayStation f1 game when I won the Spanish GP on the first Formula One game

re: Tracks!?!?

i find that RCE is quite useful. without boasting i think i'm quite consistnet so that helps me in RCE. some of my lap times have improved by more than 1 sec because of finding the right setup in RCE.

re: Tracks!?!?

But theiceman99, RCE is known to cause bugs in the game, such as freezing. It does help lap times, just avoid the glitches.

re: Tracks!?!?

Most of the tracks are fairly easy to race apart from 1, Which is spain

I have nearly all the old f1 games and am currently playing f1 06 every time i get the chance.

I always race on hard in carreer mode and always get 1st driver for torro rosso.

I have always won the first 5 races, (apart from when it rains) and rack up about 3 poles aswell, but then comes spain........

my highest qualy position is 13th and race position 6th

i don't know why i find it so hard compared to all the other places and it really bugs me, even a few seasons on when i am driving for a better team i still finish in only the low points.

Anybody else find spain a real toughie???

I did at first when i started 8th in a McLaren made up 5 places at the start (as you do) and then just plumetted down to 11th and eventually finished 10th. I then got to work on setup in time trial and now i can win and lap everyone, which is great.
