re: Tricks, Skills and Freekicks Tutorial Thread #2

I've scored quite a few of them against mates, especially after a corner is cleared out. I don't even bother about timing tbh. As soon as I see one of my players running towards the ball, I just press shoot and they normally fly in with that half volley animation or the keeper pushes it wide for another corner. It's just another range shot to me tbh, and I'm quite good at them lol.

Only thing I can't keep down is the falling over head kick . I've got the perfect way to set them up, but the finish is just not happening for me. The ball always ends up in row Q. ¬¬

Ah right, I better alter that on the Russian Roulette then .

The only moves on the game I can't do effectively are v feints and zidane turns, and I don't think that can be a coincidence. Maybe I should invest in a new controller incase my dpad is buckled (thats probably from the hours spent perfecting inside outside variations ).
You sure it isn't your pad lol. Had a quick look at the "Zidane Turns" video, and omg, I've been doing that for ages thinking it was the v-feint lmao.
Those fake turns are as effective as the shot feint if you can master it. I'm starting to use it in conjunction with the SFC against my slide tackle happy mates. The expletives they come out with when I dance past nearly all of their plays is just comedy gold lol.

I have never scored a falling overhead but the computer has scored about 3 of them against me.

I've scored 22 overheads in PES 6 and none of them have been of the falling variety. They always have too much loft on them.

Sometimes I think I'll only ever score on a falling overhead if my player is inside the 6-yard box.

How do you score that many overheads?I have only scored about 4 but one was when the player was right next to the keeper.

Manual cross to player in or around the box, tap R1 to chest it up, press shoot to finish it lol. That's the way I set up over head kicks...still no luck.

Yeah, this is the best way to set-up a lot of overheads. Use Type 4 or 5 passing, then do a chipped pass into the box by pressing O. Hold R1 to pop the ball up with your player's head or chest, then either press [] or double-tap [] and hope for the best.

You can increase your chances of scoring an overhead by playing red vs. grey Exhibition games, having at least three forwards in the penalty area, and getting the lead so the computer has to attack and leaves gaps in their defense.

There seems to be more space and worse defending in the last minutes of games, and especially in extra time. The last goal in this video is an overhead I scored in the 90th minute of an Exhibition game between Ecuador and Argentina with the final score being 5-1:

I might try that. Red vs Grey matches.

Also do you press the direction away from goal to get it on target or do you just press shoot? I've tried both ways, but it either hits the post or the keeper saves it. ¬¬

re: Tricks, Skills and Freekicks Tutorial Thread #2

I think pressing away from goal gives the best chance for the ball to go in, but the direction the ball travels is more about the angle the player is on and the timing of the shot. It's pretty easy to do a R1 chest/head up in Training and use the Play Again feature to do the same overhead again and again with different directions held and with different timing.

I scored another R1 chest overhead on Sunday (in the 116th minute) but that was after about 20 overheads attempts had missed over the past few weeks. One miss was when I pressed R1 and the player knocked it up with his foot because the O pass got to him kind of low. That would have been a rare gem of a goal.

I pulled off a secret slice lob from an impossible angle with van Persie recently and I have it saved. I'm not much of a video whizz so I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me convert it from .max to to a youtube friendly format (telling me which software to download etc.) via PM. All I can offer in exchange is my eternal gratitude.

Theres no way of doing it unless you use a dvd recorder to record it straight off your ps2 or you have the pc version too and can convert that replay to a PC format and record it from there.

In fact, can anyone link me to a replay converter? I know there was one for pes5 but I've not seen one for this game...

re: Tricks, Skills and Freekicks Tutorial Thread #2

I am trying to score a goal in the "Beckham to Scholes" fashion but i do not seem to even come close even in training with no defenders. My player volleys the ball, but it is always wide, and he volleys only once in around 30 to 35 attempts!! Pathetic huh.??
