Max Drive Questions

Is there anyway to automatically load up a option file directly from the MaxDrive USB rather than to copy it from the usb onto the memory card?


Download An Option File

1. Plug your USB stick in to a port on your computer
2. Download the option file and save it on to your USB stick.


Transferring to your PS2

1. Plug the USB stick with the option file on in to your PS2
2. Put the Max Drive disc in the PS2 machine and switch it on
3. When the disc loads, select "Memory Card Manager"
4. Choose the primary device - which is your USB stick
5. On the left, your option file file should appear
6. Check the box, and now select "Uncrush to memory card"
7. Wait for the page to load and viola, it's done.

NB: Your disc may not load first time. Keep trying if it doesnt. Shaking the PS2 a bit helps . Uncrushing the file may take a while. Any other questions, post in this thread, that's what it's here for.

I see so is that the same with save games?

Or is there a way to load up to disc first and then load up the file for sub for standard save games. e.g. Canis Canem Edit.

While I think about it, is there any way of getting the file from your maxdrive to your memory card without the maxdrive disc? My PS2 keeps complaining that my maxdrive disc isn't a valid PS2 one .

Nah, you need the disc.

As for your memory card, RiddleClown, I find that 2 standard cards is enough for me to rotate between 5/6 games, so if you're looking to have data for 20+ games, then a bigger card might be a good idea.

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I've just got my max-drive and I'm trying to transfer that che guy's option file onto my max-drive (via my PC) and I'm not exactly the most computer-literate person in the world. The manual is just a random list of letters and numbers to me. If someone could give me a short simple guide of how to get the data onto the max-drive and then onto my memory card I'd be very grateful (I apologise if I sound extremely dumb).

It downloaded the file fine (I just don't know what to do after that).

I downloaded the file and sent it to my max-drive. I got my ps2 disc to work but when I insert my max-drive into my ps2 it has nothing on it. What am I doing wrong?

Ive recently lost my max drive USB pen can i use any USB pen on it?
