It's my idea. I kinda thought about it when I stuck the 1st proximity mine on a corpse. Then I figured, why not just load it up with a few. When I saw the First Big Daddy, I flung it a POW! Down and Out.

I think you can do it with a gas tank also. I haven't tried it yet but I'll try it when I get home. Unless someone else tries it before, let us know if it works.

Personally, I'm a fan of the whole "getting in yo face with a *bleep* ton of explosives" concept. When no explosives are available (which is rare for me), Incinerate + armor piercing rounds do the trick rather quickly. And for the record, I *bleep*ing hate Rosies.

It would be a complete waste to use explosives imo, its simple to just take them down with a few electric bucks close up, however if you are doing the game on hard I would assume it's much harder.

It may be a waste, but I happen to take great satisfaction in using explosive devices. Especially on Rosies. I really do hate them.

I'm now playing through the game on easy for my last 2 achievements, and let me just say;

4 Shotgun Shells takes down a Big Daddy.

Made me LOL.

I mean, you have to use half of your ammo when on medium, more so when on hard... but easy... 4 shells?

First I find a nice hiding place.

Set about 4 trap bolts across the hallway then enrage the Big Daddy. The I set a Target Dummy behind the trap bolts which all stun him then I'll freeze him with Winter's Blast while he's stunned and set 4 proximity mines around him and I step back. No matter which direction he goes it will trigger all 4 proximity mines if you correctly position them.

That sounds like something you'd see in a Home Alone movie.

Still, if it gets the job done...

It's friggen awesome! I tried it on a Rosie. Loaded 6 proximity mines on a corpse, threw it at the Rosie and BANG, dead instantly! I wasn't sure if explosive damage can stack, but obviously it can.

Just thinking, couldn't this also work with the final boss (he who shall not be named), it should take down one of his forms instantly.

my best technique so far is to face him in an area with a pillar or something big and sturdy in the middle. i just shoot him and as he runs one way round the pillar i go round the other and eventually when he stops i just pop off a shotgun shell or grenade in his back and then run round the other way repeating the same technique. it can also help if you use the electro blast plasmid to stop him from retaliating as quick as normal.

every big daddy ive fought so far has been beaten by hiding behind something and only peeking out to shoot him. its good to have a large area with walls in the middle too, just shoot him and run around em till he loses you, and then run out and shoot him before running off again. it requires a bit of patience but its a good way to bring em down.

Try this for shits and giggles:

Equip both the Static Discharge, and Static Discharge 2.

Grab a handful of First Aid Kits.

Find a Big Daddy.

Slap him with your wrench.

Let him hit you - triggering the SD to activate.

Then just stand back and heal when you need to.

1. Plant proximity mines in a line toward a water source
2. Give Daddy a grenade to the face
3. Run like hell to water source and hide behind wall
4. Wait for Daddy to enter water
5. Electro Bolt time

That was probably my most successful one. Of course, it's always best to enrage splicers into attacking them. Get enough to attack the Daddy, and he'll be at half health by the time you take him on.

Instead of Electro Bolt, use the Electric Buck works a charm on Big Daddies - stuns them long enough for you to reload and/or move away.

Yes, I will use that too, but by and large I use Electro Bolt 3 and Machine gun in combonation. Then just mainly use grenades against Daddies. To each his own.
