The crossbow works like a *bleep*ing charm.

I usually setup a few proximity mines between me and the big daddy. then shoot some Heat seekers at it and let it walk into the mine field. Then i finish it off with electro bolt and shotgun. works perfectly everytime

Proximity Mines work wonders. Setting them up in the Big Daddies path will lead to an easy kill.

I pulled off the most brilliant kill last night. I was faced with putting down an Elite Rosie, but I had a room that was already filled with trap bolts before I got there, so I just needed to figure out how to get him to run down into it. So, I equipped my electro bolt, target dummy (damn I use this thing a lot) and Hypnotise Big Daddy. I threw hypnotise on him, waited until he was standing in the doorway to the pre-trapped room, then zapped him. While he was busy convulsing I threw target dummy on the table furthest from me. After the Daddy came out of the bolt, he ran headlong through all the trap bolts and by the time he reached the target dummy he flopped over dead.

Yeah, a big daddy downed for less than half the cost of an Eve hypo ($16) and not a single shot fired on my part. He also cleared out most of the room of the very dangerous trap bolts for me.

Ugh. I have tried all the possible techniques listed and I still cannot down my first Rosie. Nothing happens. I waste all my ammo and use everything I possibly can, but I can only get her close to half-way health. I am sure I can kill her if I use up all my money, but what the hell, is it worth it? My god!

Edit: I just ended up replenishing my health 11 times from the health Station and still ended up dying.

Have you found any armor-piercing rounds for your pistol yet? That's the only way to down the Daddy, in conjunction with using your plasmids. I died 4 times trying to kill it on first playthrough, but didn't even get hurt once on my second playthrough.

I tried telekenisis again and took ahold of her frags. I tried this before ad gave up, I guess I was just lacking good aim at the time. It only took me about 5 of those to take her down, and a few Machine-Gun magazines.

Easy - Exploding Bucks and Electric take them down fast

Medium- Id go with Trap bolts and proximity when the shotgun again

Hard - Even more trap bolts and grenade Launcher

Also the hornets make him hit them away for about 5-10 seconds allowing you to shoot him a few times without worrying about being hit

You also might want to disable your static discharge tonic so you don't accidentally piss a daddy off before you're ready to fight them.

Also, Nerua, Electric Buck is not overtly effective against the daddies any more than regular buck. Hell you could fire electric buck at splicers and still kill them just because it's buckshot after all, it just does extra damage against turrets and the like.

Yeah, Sereph, it's solid because you can keep him from movin'. Just like with the Electro-Bolt Plasmid, it stuns him in place, but it doesn't break when he takes damage (if you keep using electric buck) because... Well, it stuns him every shot. So it just keeps him in place while you unload a shotgun into him. Cakewalk.

I've been using Electro Blot and Shotgun. But it's basically hit and run. I'm still having problems killing them fast but it works.
