I was thinking it would be sweet if we had a thread to discuss effective techniques you've discovered for killing the different kinds of Big Daddies. So just share some methods you've used to kill them.

well it all depends on the enviroment if hes on oil, flame him. in water electricute him. But for my normal strategy I incinerate him then run up and hit him with the shotgun, takes a lot of ammo and first aid but its the most simple way. If u want to take them out easy use berserk on him or others around and by the time hes done killing them hell have lost a good amount of health.

Whenever I have a RPG, I freeze him and setup proximity mines. But if I don't, I'll mostly shock-and-shotgun him until he's dead.

Electric buck is super-effective, if you have enough of it to spare. Also, the Electro-Bolt (quite possibly the most effective Plasmid in the game) stuns him, so you can stun, shoot, dodge, repeat. And armor-piercing rounds do a lot of damage, especially from the machine gun. Zap him, then unload with armor-piercing machine gun ammo.

"Give him the one-two punch! Remember, the one-two punch!"
Did anybody else crack up at that line?

Also, try to keep things between you and the Big Daddy. The places you meet 'em are usually set up pretty nicely with cover. They're slow, so you can take a few shots, hide behind something, then circle around and repeat.

When I had my grenade launcher I shot him a couple times and he was down very soon. I was very surprised. I think I only had to shoot him once with my pistol.

Yeah I did that too on the Bouncer, I also used Telekinesis to catch his Grenades and send them back.

Shit, well I'll have to think of something then. I'm only so far in the game right now too. Gonna play a bit more today. Hopefully get to fight one of those.

You fight them in Fort Frolic.

My first encounter with an elite bouncer was when i was helping sanders cohen, or whatever his name is. And i came up to put the third picture up on his master piece and there was one sitting there with a little sister. And I just had to fight him for some adam. its what i do

Trap Bolts make extremely quick work of Elite Bouncers.

I used to electro bolt them, then run up close with my shotgun and blast once, rinse and repeat. After I got my grenade launcher though, I usually did more damage to myself than to him.

Finally, now that I have my shotgun fully upgraded and I also have Winter Blast, I freeze him, then blast him to bits.

I heard the best way was similar to Sereph's technique. It's basically shock, shotgun blast, repeat while dodging his attacks.
