How deep is Bioshock really? |
|
I was wondering. I have read a lot about Bioshock's thrilling storyline that forces players to make agonizing decisions that force you to consider moral and ethical issues. It is supposed to play with your mind and make you begin to question the relevancy of right and wrong. Bioshock has received so much acclaim for it's revolutionary RPG style take on choosing between right and wrong. ------------------- ![]() ......... ..........

I never saw choosing to Harvest or save the little sisters as a grand moral decision. Without spoiling anything, your decision to harvest them will only change the ending (There are two). To be honest, I just saved them for the achievement. -------------------

quote gamefreak101Yeah, I have to agree. It's just so well crafted. And it's original compared to todays slew of shooters. I'll still finish it because (even though it's kind of on rails) I really want to see the story through. ------------------- ![]() ......... ..........

You cant really say how deep it is without ruining the plot though. And if you want to know alot of the story in the game, you'll have to find all of the audio diaries, you'd be suprised what you can find out with those. ------------------- ![]() I find comfort in knowing that the end of my world has a due date.

However plot-based games tend to give you little replay incentive. ------------------- ![]() I find comfort in knowing that the end of my world has a due date.

I am always up for buying a plot based game with little replay value because I respect the art. I am however borrowing Bioshock from a friend. ------------------- ![]() ......... ..........

Yeah, I wouldn't say its the choices one has to make that are so deep, but more just the story itself. ------------------- ![]() GO SCOTLAND!

Even thought it's basically on rails, I'm enjoying it. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a good ride on a roller-coaster? The message behind the game and the themes are well done although sometimes a bit too over-the-top and could be more subtle but over all I think it's a step in the right direction for games. I want to see more games like this, more games that are like watching an interactive movie. Multi-player or not, on rails or whatever, I like it. ------------------- ![]() ......... ..........

You don't make any choices yourself so in that sense, it isn't that deep ------------------- ![]() ![]()
