	Log in to remove this advertisement I'm looking to get some sort of camera for when I go backpacking/hiking and was looking for some suggestions. I'm no photographer, just looking to take some pics of my travels, so I don't need a crazy DSLR or anything. Something that takes good quality pics (obviously), reasonably priced, and small & light. Video recording capabilities would be nice too... I was looking at a flipcam for something like that (are they any good?), but don't know much about them. Heard that they can record for around 2 hours, so I thought that maybe if there is a camera out there that has similar capabilities I can just get that and kill 2 birds with one stone. -------------------

	I've found this guy to be pretty good. I bought it a while ago for the same reason. It's a pretty decent camera, both in the auto and manual modes. It takes SD cards and AA batteries for convenience, and is small enough to easily fit in your pocket. It was $120 when I bought it though. Now it's $400. ------------------- www.neonshift.com

	You need a good camera that can produce higher ISO's than 800 and that have more depth than an 8 megapixel camera. -------------------

	If you don't want a DSLR, or anything too bulky, I suggest a Canon S100. Or if you can find it, the previous iteration S95. Both are well known as one the best point and shoot cameras. Its a favorite for all professional photographers that don't wish to carry their heavy gear around. I currently have a S100 and it is amazing, for a point and shoot, and I shoot professionally. It's small and lightweight and can shoot in raw, and provides good ISO that is useful for night shots. It has neat features too like faking a tilt-shift lens. Check it out, if the S100 is too pricey, find a S95, well worth it. ------------------- =Photography==GFX=

	I recommend the Canon SD1300 IS. I take it everywhere with me as a multipurpose camera. So even when I am shooting with my DSLR, I'll still have this point-and-shoot with me. The picture and video qualities are great.
