	Log in to remove this sponsored message Photographer's Championship:. In order to aid the planned renaissance in this forum I thought it was a bright idea to bring this competition back to life. This is a contest to hopefully get more users interested in photography and a chance for a new feature artist/artwork. Basically, there will be a theme for each round and you will have to take a photograph based on the theme. There will be one person to judge and whoever wins gets to have their photo in the header and become the new featured artist. Hopefully, you guys will get others who don't even know about the photography forum interested. This is after all about building community and encouraging participation. .:THE RULES You are only allowed one entry per round. You may change your entry as many times as you want but get it in before the deadline. Once the deadline has passed, if I did not give any extensions, you may not edit your entry any more. Your entry must be taken by you. You cannot submit an entry taken by someone else. Even if it was your sibling/friend/etc. If you see someone entering a picture that you suspect is not their work, please PM me. Your entry must fit the theme. However, interpretation and creativity are part and parcel of photography so get your outside-the-box caps on and come up with something interesting. Editing your image is fine (desaturating/cross processing/selective colour etc.), so long as it is within reason. Editing a shot so that it becomes more graphic design than photography and you will be asked to resubmit. As this can be a very subjective issue, if you have any questions feel free to PM me or post it in the thread. If you have edited your image in any way, please post the original or a list of edits. There is no size requirement but please don't stretch the page. Don't make your image too tiny either. Probably a photo with the width of 500px is enough. If you want to maintain the photo original resolution then please use links or spoilers. You may critique another user's work, but please try to make it constructive criticism. Please respect the user's wishes though if he/she specifically states that they do not want any comments. Include with your submission an brief explanation of the shot and how it fits with the theme. Please abide all forum rules. That said, pornographic/illegal content is not allowed in your photos. .:THE JUDGING Current Judge: Euphoric Whoever wins in the first round will become the next judge, and whoever wins in that becomes the next judge and so on and so forth. As much as possible, please give critique when you judge. It doesn't have to be a whole paragraph's worth. A couple of sentences are fine. This is to further the progression of the entire community. .:CURRENT THEME Freestyle .:THE DEADLINE Sunday Feb 20th .:THE Reward The winning entries will be included in the header in a way that is as yet to be determined. ---------- As can be seen the starting round is Freestyle. I went with such a general theme to try and encourage people to enter. Also so that those who haven't done this before get a simple round to work out how things work. I will be judging this first round. Please make sure you ahve your shots in by the deadline. Although asap is always preferred as seeing entries can encourage and inspire others to join in. 	Well shoot, why not. A picture I shot at the tip of Old Mission Peninsula here in my home state of Michigan. No clue why the rocks were set up in such a way, but with Lake Michigan serving as a never ending backdrop, I thought it was a cool shot edit: Was taken with a Canon Powershot A530 point and shoot, and was sharpened in Photoshop, no other editing! (Except shrinking it down :-p) Here's a bonus, a picture of me taking that picture! LOL Spoiler: pic Edit: Feb 21, 11 -------------------

	Freestyle? Yay! I took this one at the Dreams resort in Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico. It was so beautiful there! There was a group of big rocks right at the edge of the shore, and you could walk in there and see blue lobsters and other sea critters on the other side. This was inbetween a couple of rocks where the water rushed in across the sand. No edits were made! Spoiler: pic ------------------- schizophreak \| deeper

	Took this picture near Sedona, Arizona off the I-17. I don't have the original, but it is pretty much an exact copy of the original. The picture came out so well, I was really surprised. I also made it a little smaller so it won't stretch the page. Oh and I should mention it is two pictures taken side by side made into a panoramic. 	I took this picture near the base of Kilauea in Hawaii. I can't remember if I edited it or not, but if I did, I just tweaked the colors and contrast a bit. ------------------- www.neonshift.com

	Great to see the amount of entries for the first round everyone! I trust you'll all continue to submit for each round and also to post in the forum. Just a heads up that, while it is Sunday here, I know with time zones it isn't for others. So for the sake of anyone leaving entry until the last minute I won't be judging until tomorrow (24-30 hours from the time of this post).
